Really! Please tell us more about it. What was the goal when you made it and what is the coolest things about it. Be not afraid. I support you advertising your UT stuff here. I bet several folks here have never touched the Matrix mod before and would love it.
~Peace~

Re: Sir Mandrake
Yes..Time flies when you're having fun.... Just now have time to visit and reply here...
I work in IT and my Boss loves the game, UT + Monsterhunt. last year we retired a mail server and my boss goes "Hey use this old box and build us a UT server" and so I did.
Dell Power edge 1600sc Duel Xeon... T3 Pipe (shared unfortunately)... CentOS 5.5 ... I own the Unimatrix01.com domain so I set up the redirect there. Calling the server Unimatrix01 isnt because of any reference to mods or the matrix. Unimatrix01 is related to the Borg of the star Trek franchise. Most of my own friends play using the Necris model in the game which resemble the borg. I myself use a Borg Skin.
The server is open to any one that wants to play. My goal is the have a reliable server with decent maps that work . (still weeding out the crap, lol)

Great heads up for us. Thanks for the input. Keep us updated on your efforts and your issues. We'll help the best we can. Did you mention the OS the server is running on? I was speed reading and missed it I guess.

Very cool, Mandrake!
It must be nice to work with a boss who lets you setup a UT server!
Keep up the good work!

Re: Sir Mandrake
We use CentOS 5.5 on UT as well as on our Email, Webserver and DNS servers . One idea behind the UT Server was to apply updates to it first and if everything went ok, then proceed with updates to the production servers. So the UT server is a Guinea Pig...Hermskii wrote:Great heads up for us. Thanks for the input. Keep us updated on your efforts and your issues. We'll help the best we can. The Boss was an avid Quake2 gamer until I introduced him to UT, then he discovered Monsterhunt and has been hooked ever since.

I'm in IT and have never even heard of CentOS. Neither has my boss. Glad it is working for you.

Its an Open Source Linux Based OS with a very good community support. A lot of schools and small Enterprise businesses use it.
