The doctors and all the nurses cried instanly when they saw the head poke out.

The door was cracked to the emergency room, and a passer by glanced in and then stoped in their tracks.

Somewhere nearby a bird on a mountian top took a deep breath and swooped down from a thousand feet to grab a taisty morcel , it hadn't eaten in days. "This one will taiste good" It thought as it let out a SCREEEEEEEECH on the way up to the top agian.

Was that August the 3rd, or the 8th of March? You see, you Americans are the only ones in the world who list the month first, then the date. Everyone else does the date first, then the month, then the year. So whenever we read a date like that from an American there's always some automatic confusion. You guys should shape up and fly right, and start trying to conform to the rest of the world. :P

This is exactly why.

WTF is wrong with the metric system. Why did we have to make up our own stupid stuff. Gawd our fore fathers were idiots.

Hmmm?

Post by Hermskii » Mon Feb 27, 2006 11:18 pm

Good point ya'll. Shrimp released his code for MH recently. He is the won who made it in the first place. The oldest/first file of actual MH code was released on the date in the form I wrote down which is in Standard Windows American form. He is from Canada I think but his PC and OS were from here possibly. I do not know when or what the first MH server was called.

Funny Kort! Sorta true too. We should have taken the metric system and just used it already. On the other hand, would you mind holding your breath while I smoke, I mean, I am an American. Thanks! LOL. Later!

Hmmmphh. We're having a cold snap here with temperatures ranging from -7C to -13C (you yanks can work out the Fahrenheit for yourselves  ), so I toss out that little tidbit to see if I'll get flamed or not. Well not it is. I'll just quietly freeze in the dark here then.

But I still don't get why the USA is not using the metric system. You were supposed to have finished conversion by the year 2000. What the hell happened?

Same thing we do with all our projects, Spend alot of money getting it rolling and then move on to something else. Everyone thinks "oh this is such a great idea!" Then a week later they forget about it cause americians are so easaly distracted.

I wish it would come to pass.Same goes for alot of things. If there was one world standard , the whole world would be better.

Since the topic is no longer talked about & has now gone to the metric system, I'll say a word or 2 on it. Firstly, all the world has basically gone to using it, even though the USA has not fully done so. Yup, I said fully cause close to half the stuff is already in metric (as far as the scientific & engineering communities are concerned) with some trading firms doing likewise (since the EU has set the date of post-2009 to not allow in any non-metric labelled stuff). It's also law the USA allows metric to be used, but it's up to the people to voluntarily to do so (should be enforced IMHO, just as it was done in most nations!)
Anyways, the USA is, generally, very slowly making the transition (like bottled drinks for example) & one of the best ways to speed it up a bit more is to see that all schools on every level is taught the metric system, so that the old imperial system would just be a memory.
