I just got the UT G.O.T.Y. edition today. So far, I'm not impressed. Still, I may rebuild CG under the GOTY standard here after a while which will include the DM-Chaos UT maps at least. Any thoughts? I may also include the DM-RA maps as well. I'm shocked that I have never seen most of these newer maps.

Yah - GOTY is virtually the same as UT99 - in fact they are the same.
UT-GOTY just has all the bonus packs & mods with it and also the latest official patch.
Most of us are playing GOTY all the time if they installed all the patches & bonuses!

It depends actually. My version is 432 not 436. It doesn't have all of the Bonus Packs either. It does have several newr maps and 3 mods one being Chaos-UT. Ever played pure Chaos-UT? It is fun. Swords, bows and arrows, black holes, smily faces that scream at you and kill you, flame throwers, freeze guns, proximity mines, and tons more. It is even better on UT2K4 than UT99.

I'll mention more if I come across it and there is more. I'm just forgetting to mention it. The set came with 3 CDs. (Red not Blue). Later!

I tried Chaos out once years ago on my son-in-law's comp.
It was very fun!

I have the mod but have never installed it.
I was afraid it would screw up my regular UT.
Question - You can Turn Chaos OFF if you don't want it correct?
I mean, it is a mod you have to pick to play correct?
So I could install it without having to worry about it leeching into my pure UT (unless i want it) is what I am asking I guess.
I know this sounds lame but it has been a good 6 - 7 years since I even looked at Chaos and that was over the shoulder of an ex-son-in-law.

I'm not 100% sure if its still the same but a few years ago i tried adding it into normal ut and it fully integrated that said it only caused problems when i tried to set a server for me and a few friends and they all had to load the chaos stuff to get in..

Good question. I think you turn it on or off in the Goty version but it installs itself into UT if you add the MOD to plain UT. I know it is way more fun in UT2004 than it is in UT99. I also noticed my machine bogged down and never recovered afetr I installed it to UT2004 but no-one else had the same at all so it must have just been something I did. I haven't played it in a few years now but it was very fun especially if you only use Chaos-UT weapons and remove all of the default UT weapons.
