Is there a Monster Hunt forum other than this that might have coders?MEAT wrote:It took me 6 minutes to kill a giant spider today.
I shot that thing a 1000 times or more.
And why I stayed that long is beyond me.
But is that normal?
Maybe there should be a mod that recognizes player
count and adjusts?

Well the mod doesn't have to be written for MH. It can be for all without being gametype specific.
The problem is getting a coder to reply on the subject. They all spent hours , days , years , discovering how to write script. Most of them do not appreciate someone who did no research at all to ask for easy answers.
Yet still the cause is an idea that has been long over due for UT. I think it might spure some interest. You should post this idea on BUF and maybe Unrealadmin.org. Both places hold a big UT community and allot of coders who would be interested possibly.

I know it's a team effort and all and points don't matter...but I was shooting this Titan about 800 times
when this other dude shows up and shoots him about 50 and he gets credit for the kill.
Am I missing something here or did I answer my own question?
I'd sure like to see less monsters and more thought provoking activities to perform.

Yep
Yep, you answered it. This happens all of the time with the default scoring system. There is a movement to use a mod that scores more like how you would expect but I'm still resistant to using it at this point because:
1. I'm lazy and tired.
2. I've heard some negative stuff about it too.
What other things do you want to do in MH MEAT? I could have a map made where it is a contest to see who can make fine pottery first or have a section that you can't pass unless you complete at least 2 sides of a Rubic's Cube. LOL.
Does anyone remeber the map that used passwords that changed? Wasn't it called MH-Password or something like that?

Yeah I know I'm new and all and yes it's fun to kill monsters, but after you play a mapHermskii wrote: What other things do you want to do in MH MEAT? a few times it all becomes repetitive, don't you think?

Yes
Yes. Don't all maps become repetitive after you played them a few times. DM maps are plentiful. MH maps aren't or at least good ones aren't. You'll play the same good ones over and over forever. Sorry.
BTW, I don't want MH-Password. I was just wondering if I remembered it right. Maybe MEAT should download it and try to beat it. Ha ha ha! I said MEAT and beat it in the same sentence.
Anyways MEAT, Do this, play and beat MH-IndianaJones by yourself. Try to do it with out ever dying once though. It isn't EASY but it isn't that hard either. I'll give you a hint, if you play your cards right, you can kill everthing there is outside without the WarLord ever even moving. OR you could get other monsters to keep him busy and shoot him while they fight him. That way he doesn't come after you. It's fun I tell you. I love playing that map when no one is on the server with me. Same for the MH-Akemi map. Beat the whole map and never die doing it. Later!

All MH maps are repetitive being that you have to go through the same sequence of events to finish.Hermskii wrote:Yes. Don't all maps become repetitive after you played them a few times. DM maps are plentiful.

And that is the only thing I really like about the maps. Killing monsters gets to be boring.
At least with other UT games the people change and ways of killing change.
And as for MH-IndianaJones, I finally made it all the way to the leap of faith without dying.
But was denied 3 times for lack of faith, which I don't understand?
