First I want to thank hellfire for taking the time to pursue this. He was kind enough to contact me outside of the forum and trust me with private information about his computer.

I have looked at the textures involved in Andromeda and I cannot find any problems. I run the textures on two nvidia and one ATI card here at the house and all three will play any of the MH maps. I've done two test reinstalls and countless computer restarts, even trying my level darndest to crash andromeda on a private testserver.

I have looked at the textures in ed and exported all the andromeda ones to photoshop to check for errors. I can't find anything

In short, I am sure hellfire is having an issue with something, but I am equally sure it's not within the texture package. If a texture was causing the crash, it would vomit some sort of error in the utlog. The fact it doesn't leads me to believe there is likely some sort of hardware issue. I'd guess RAM but it could be motherboard too. The texture package is frontloading his system probably to the point of swapping and somewhere in there is a hardware issue. I'd bet if he loaded a selection of some fairly long maps with large mylevel packages that use a bunch of the new textures, he's probably get the same error.

Im not an american but I followed every step (3x already).
Im sure I finished the installation succesfully.
Maybe it is something in my PC but it's definitely not my videocard.
I don't know.
I was almost sure it was the S3TC causing the issue because I was able to play MH-AndromedaAncient ''without'' the S3TC but not ''with'' the S3TC.

The last thing you still haven't checked is using the latest D3D9 render with those S3TC textures instead of the OpenGL one.

HellFire you reached the status of unofficial {HOH} beta-tester. Be proud of that!

Yeah and please understand I am in no way making judgement on your computer competency. I've had problems like this for no apparent reason and ended up attributing them to GREMLINS.

First paragraph says it all.

Yes, I too want to stress that I am not saying that Hellfire is doing anything wrong at all. I'm saying that this isn't happening elsewhere and the only other person who had an issue so far that I know of was David. I too want to thank HellFire for giving it hell several times to try to get this going for himself. I wish we could reproduce the issue but I can't either. It simply works for me. Thank you for your efforts HellFire.
~Peace~
