Wow...congratulations you schooled some newbies...lol
But these are the type of players we need to help get better.
Not beat the crap out of and have them fear us.
These are also the players we want joining this forum.
Shoot... I sound like father Hermskii now.
..ps...nice win, although we know you only play for the fun of it...

Me...happy?Killer Klownz wrote:The thing is I don't care about winning or losing, never have. I just like to play the game.
I'm always happy.
But you're the one that said you play for the fun of it...win or lose...not me...
I'm just saying, it's obvious you're the better player, so why not take the weak
under your wing and show them some love?
Not saying you have to, hell you can go on beating the crap out of people if that's what you want.
I just think we need to make better players out of these newbies that keep showing up, rather than
running them off all the time.
And yes, we will still dominate but we'll be playing and winning against better players.
Makes for more of a challenge as well as gives hope to these newbies of becoming better players.
But as for regulars on our servers that's a different story. Chew them up and spit them out.
They've been around long enough to learn the ropes and get better.
It's not our fault their not getting better...they are weak and need to be destroyed...lol
But again, do what you want...I'm just thinking as an admin and the future of our servers...
Grrr... I do sound like father Hermskii with all my preaching...lol
And it's the same things Hermskii told me years ago when I use to
dominate, throw out challenges, run off people and piss people off.
I hope hermskii doesn't read this...he'll laugh and say "I told you so".
Maybe I'll delete this before he gets back into town?

I don't really belong in this conversation, but let me throw my hat in the ring. I was playing as Darkmatter one afternoon (my kid's nick, I didn't realize till I had joined) and joined Meat's game. It was quickly frustrating and I started to leave but Meat took the time to give me some advice and encouragement and that really took the sting out. I was about 5 seconds from quitting and dismissing it when he caught me. It was even more cool cause he didnt know it was me, he just saw someone struggling.
The gametype is not my bag but I can guarantee you that getting slammed hard out of the gate will guarantee a larger portion of people will be done and never come back. I saw this a LOT when I ran my RPG servers. Once a week or two I had "RPG school" and helped the new players learn the ropes, otherwise they got aggravated and quit. Perhaps you could have "Deemer School" night and share your 1337 skills in a non-threatening environment? I'd come just to pick up some new tricks.
Point is you make lemonade with what you have. If you want to feel what it's like on the other side, nicklame on one of the higher echelon sniper servers. After the 15th headshot you take from players you can't find, you'd be ready to leave too.

You could be right....ScottyD wrote:The gametype is not my bag but I can guarantee you that getting slammed hard out of the gate will guarantee a larger portion of people will be done and never come back. I saw this a LOT when I ran my RPG servers.
Records show (Game Tracker) that I've had over 200 different players/names visit my server in the last 8 months.
Of that 200+ only 50 returned in the last month. The rest are not to be found.
And it's not like there are 100's of Redeemer servers out there...just three.
So for some reason players are not returning or staying.
Who really can say what it is...
But again, I think we all should do our part in welcoming new players.

Yeah, I've been doing what Hermskii says - and all I have to do is play normal to play bad LOLMEAT wrote:You could be right....ScottyD wrote:The gametype is not my bag but I can guarantee you that getting slammed hard out of the gate will guarantee a larger portion of people will be done and never come back. There's CG, MRS, Redeemers of Virtual Hate and OH... there's 4 now!
Let me take this opportunity to introduce number 4...
It's been up for only about a month and at the time of this post has had 69 players play it.
