Klownz has had players leave maps for various reasons but never had a player leave because Klownz wouldn't engage in some witty reparte . . . until tonight . . .

A valid argument I agree...to a certain extent.

Yes, the ping is the last element that does the difference in game when skilled players are in game. Imagine a 250 ping MEAT or Klownz fighting against a 50 ping MEAT or Klownz and 98% of the maps wonld be won by the low ping player.
This is very frustrating when you see on your screen the map turning all around you for full 2 to 5 seconds before the ping return of the server makes you respawn. (especially in maps like Fractal or Anda Dar)
Another point which is a hard time for nerves is when you are behind a wall corner waiting to do a "hook shot" with a rocket that never leaves your weapon !!!!!!!!!

You want to eat your mouse in those cases !!!

I stopped playing sniper game on DOU server because of the same dam ping. Suddenly, at a street corner you are facing another player not really aiming in your direction... You are a pretty skilled player and you aim and shoot before him and... you are the one that dies

... again and again and again... Ping makes that what you see is not what you get !!!!! So I stopped playing UT99 on US servers.

I can compare with european sniping servers in which I play with a 45 or so ping against US players with 150 to 200 ping and this is how I currently win duels against players that were already aiming at me when I killed them.

That is my "ping fetish". If I had time for that I'd made my own redeemer server like Kid, Meat or Klownz did but... no more time enough

Anyway know I don't play as often than I used to do and as I'm not a good redeemer player anymore, this hurts my nerves less to die because of ping or because of better players in front of me. I don't even remember most of maps and good spots.

More, I love this game much more than when I stopped for the reasons I said

But don't get me wrong, a ping can't win without a good player behind
