Ping on This

A little help here if you know anything.
Yes, that's right I'm talking about the dreaded high ping or "lag city" as I like to call it.
It's the complaint of late around my server. Especially when I'm getting such a superior low ping.
Now I know a few reasons why someone would have high ping but is there anything I can do server side to help?
Other than not play..lol

Make sure you don't have any spyware running. Turn off any un-needed services that Windows is running in the back ground. Get more ram. Reboot the cable and the rest of the system every once in a while.

Make sure that the MaxClientRate, etc., is set correctly for your bandwidth!

It happens to me a lot too - I think if it happens worse in a bigger map, it means you need more RAM, but otherwise ya - turn off everything except your firewall (i never turn that off for nobody lol) - I also think turning off your Java that runs as 'jusched.exe' as one of your processes in Task Mgr.' helps.

alright, alright.... i see i need to set a few things straight in this thread......

1, i used to hate UT, then i got hooked on it and was always playing, so shadow bought me my own comp.
2, i told him he couldn't upgrade BEFORE i was a clan member, i have
since told him to upgrade because i need all the help i can get!!!!!
and HE keeps saying "Not right now."
3 i offered to shut off cable so he could get upgrade, he said no.
4, yes, i can be a "Expletive Deleted"

5, he won't get rid of me..... took him too long to get me on UT, no
guarantee next wife will be so much fun
