Spawn Protection anyone?

I personally like it.
It will detour people from spraying...just a little.
Actually it would be more of a planned spray and not a frantic spray to get attention.
It will also make a better player out of you...now you'll have to think!
And it really doesn't come into play with the bigger maps, which I have a lot of.
It only affect the smaller spray maps and the impact is small.
Sure it will take a game or two to adjust but give it a try before you vote.

LOL. Good point. I say keep it as MRS is really just a mosstly fully realized version of CG. If you hate it, play on my server. If you like it, play on MRS. I would have used it myself (and did) had everyone not complained so much but officially, I was for it but I simply chose to listen to those who were regulars on my server way back then when I used it. They hated it, so I took it back off. I never was able to find the thread that discussed it from back then. Sorry.

Spawn protection is ok for the way you want your server to be but in some maps, you can't be sure that there is no one spawning close to the player you've been looking for. I think about a map which is an endless hole. There is always a bot or a player spawning somewhere so... you die...

But I must admit that some "sprayers" with very short pings can't go on spraying. I had some good results with the spawn prot... This helps a "bad high ping" player like me except for those who translocate the whole map long to telefrag you while you drive...

With spawn prot... without spawn prot... there's no real solution to be fair...

I know you're surely right Meat but I've not enough knowledge of all the stuff around servers and as I said the other day, my PC is not strong enough for hosting a UT99 server AND playing sometimes on UT2K4.

I'll keep grumbl£%$*@&!?$*#ing each time I play on CG and MRS.
I'd love to find some people sometimes on Kid's server because my ping is often better (very few) there...

Yeah...took me a while..sorry for the delay. I took your advice and did a search. Yes, you are correct that sometimes my son gets on and forgets to change the name. He normally goes in as Patt. And now that he has a connection in his room, he loves playing me on Meat's server...although he loses and calls me a noob all the time..LOL

As for other comments, I do recall at one time there was another Elvis going in and I'd be in as guest. I've made a change though in my name so thatpeople will know it's me. I have the first 2 letters as caps..so hopefully no one will use that one.

Nice to be here, and I can actually check this from work...woohooo.
