Rain Simulation

Post by Prowner » Mon Oct 04, 2010 11:23 pm

I took a little time into making something that looks like rain, and to me it's pretty believable and I think someone can take this idea and turn into something pretty good! I could have done better, but hey... It's just to show you guys!

This is my little "Rain Simulation" that's pretty believable, but also it can sometimes just look like a big ol' mess of lines, but hey I tried and it's not too bad if I do say so myself! Here is the package to open it as well if you don't already have this.

Hope somebody can turn this into a better rain area! :P

Problem with doing that sorta style, is that it will eventually "Expletive Deleted" up the Bsp limitations, could also lag in some slower pc's etc.

its better to use a effect system :P

Well I would LOVE to make some rain in the puzzle map I'm working on, so if you have a better way of doing it, I would LOVE to hear it!! It sounds like you know what you're talking about.

Well best way to do it is with UT2004 with Emmiters :P hehe
But we dont have those in UT99, but we can still Simulate an emmition effect, but UT99 generally doesnt have much ability for maps like this.
