A few questions, related to this community
I had a few questions,
1. How many server does this community run, and what gametypes? (MH-DM-CTF etc.)
2. Is there interest for new maps?
3. If there is interest for new maps, what kind of maps you like to have?
CM3 is almost finished, in the meantime I can finish a few small projects of me.
(a CTF map and a few DM maps) and 1 MH map.

Re: A few questions, related to this community
That is a really hard question. I have 5 servers. One is a MH server. Three are DM servers running special mods. The last one is a UT2004 DM server.
Over time I have supported several other Admins by giving them help when they needed it and giving them space here in the form of their own forum to give their players a place to come and talk, goof around, make suggestions, ask questions and everything that happens at all forums.
Currently, this forum is specifically supporting only one other server group (publically) and that is HOOK's UT Place. He has a much busier forum there and while it does not have nearly as many members it has far more ACTIVE members and thus is actually supporting this place more than this place is supporting his. He has a large list of servers and Admins that specifically get support from his web-site and forum and it's members.
There is always a never ending interest in new maps. HOOK and I both like DM maps that work well with our Redeemer Only mods. I like MH maps too but I don't install beta maps if I can help it. I hope this answers your questions and I hope to give more and better information to you about all of this soon. I'm real busy right now though.

Yes, what Hermskii said in above post.
We are always interested in New Maps!
You do a good job of it also Terraniux.
I always enjoy DM-SkyLights!
PS: yeah I weed out members that never post and/or seem suspicious, so my member count isn't as high as it would be if I left all members in the active list.
It is just nicer that way I think.

And do you prefer big outside or inside maps?

Re: A few questions, related to this community
Yeah, we didn't do a good job of making suggestions did we? Sorry for that. If you stand by, I'm sure we can get some concepts together for you and reasoning behind the logic.
For instance, have you played redeemer only mod much? While it can be very exciting to play in a small area, it seems to go too fast for many people. If the map is too big then it goes too slow. I think on avaerage, a redeemer map should play well with about 4-5 players since it seems to be the average load.
Played MH much? MH maps are IMHO the hardest maps to make because you must consider so many things like how many monster the creature factories produce, how many and what kinds of pick ups to place in the map, how far is far enough through the map before a 2nd respawn point activates, how to best tell the players what the mission is, how best to force players through a certain pathnode while never having them know they are being prodded to go in certai ndirections for certain reasons. I think MH-Kittara is by far one of the best MH maps ever made and it displays examples of almost everything I mentioned here and the right way to do things. Note though that MH-Kittara was made back before all of these UTJMH type ammo and health regenerating mods were made. Now maps need to be much stronger in order to be fun with those mods.

YES! LOLTerraniux wrote:And do you prefer big outside or inside maps?
Hermskii had some good ideas above.
Maybe you should try playing on {CG} and {CMM} so you get a feel for the different redeemers.
{CG} is Classic Redeemer.
Also...
We are currently running 6 different "New Age" Redeemers on {CMM}.
Then, after playing these 2 servers for a while, think to yourself - "What kind of map would be very fun for these Redeemers?"

Re: A few questions, related to this community
Why don't you guys just go over your logs and tell Terraniux which maps are played the most?
For Curious George's Redeemer Insanity it was always maps like DM-Crane, DM 16, and DM-Dark City. DM-Konosus was also popular. I used to like DM-Beholden myself, and would recommend nothing be larger than my other favourite, DM-Vocant.
For Monster Hunt, anything that works well is always welcome.

Suggestion
This goes for Hook and Hermskii, but you think maybe we can have a Custom Map column specific for the mappers in these community, for example we have several new mappers and old mappers and to make it easier to play their specific maps we can combine them in their own Custom Column in mapvote, because I noticed there are so many maps in mapvote between the servers that you have to do a lot of digging to find the new maps that have been posted, just food for thought guys. I plan on finishing this DOOM map so I know mappers would appreciate seeing there own custom column perhaps even though you are running a lot of mods. Thanks guys.
p.s- i'll copy this post to HUTP as well.

That is actually a great idea! I want to consider it more but to have a spot for just the new stuff could be pretty neat indeed and it would meet Killer's other hopes too.
