Welcome to the first post about the new map i am working on.

Here are some teasers and side notes.

Feel free to give some ideas and criticism.

Remember this is real early in the building stage. All the lighting and some geometry will be redone. Right now there is just random lighting to see what i am working on in ED. There are also allot not shown here.

Take a look.
Theme -
Investigate distress signal in a water treatment facility on Alfa Primeus 6.

Above is the intro room. You will spawn here as you are teleported out of the transport ship. There will be a Minigun here. Maybe some health or armor. I need to add some decorations to this area. and the skybox is very basic and needs dooing.

you have four paths to follow. Completeing one will open the door to the next path. To reach each of these big doors you must learn how to elevator jump. If you dont makeit and fall try to land in the deep part of the sewer below. There will be some kind of monster to shoot in here , probly pupae or gasbags.

Making you way through the first path you will have lots of pipe to travel. But carefull it is real easy to fall off to the toxic sludge below. It is wide though so many can go at once. Here you will need to pull some timed switches to make it to the next section. When you enter here gassbags will start comeing out of the woodwork at you. they have been living in this facility for a while it looks like. Smelly , Nasty creatures.
I will be adding allot of more things to this room . Includeing some of those hanging things that move and maybe some BT to grab some healthkeg or a doubledamage.

Above:
As you make your way through more of the map you wind up here. Upon entering you are greeted with the sight of skarjj unloading equipment into the facility. "WHAT ARE SKARJJ DOOING HERE? WE ARE NOT ALONE!" When you enter the room the ship will move out of the opening in the roof and the skarjj will start wooping your ass. you must flip 4 switches to open the water passage in the center.

no pic available yet but section is pretty much done.
You will grab some supplies from boxes broken open in the battle and make your way through the sewers underwater passages. fighting Devilfish allong the way . Some tougher then others. Many directions to choose from, only one way leads to the first boss. Kill the boss and the door to the second Main Path will be unlocked.

Seriously Mr Nali. I do it exactly like i said in my tutorial and it works.
Maybe you should try making a clean install of UT just for mapping. Thats what i did and i have no snags. Also helps because i want to use only default textures so everything in my DIR is a default.

Is Herm still running the DM-Altars of Madness ? I made that map just for CG server. But I am down to make another.

Just an update.
I have two paths of the four almost complete. I will need someone to help me test it out soon. There are some areas i need some ideas how to make better.
Pics are on the way, i am offwork for two days.

I also need some ideas for the last two paths.
Sewer industrial theme. Search and rescue mission.

I was thinking one path you would have to take a fortress.

And maybe another path would be a giant elevator that lowers you slowly.
Did anyone ever play Xmen arcade game. Side scrolling 3d. lol
They get on elevators and ride down slow while fighting. I want this effect. I need ideas what to do about people respawning after they die. How do they get back on the elevator?
I wonder is there a way to bring a teleporter with the elevator as it goes down. Then respawns can jump right on the elevator.

i like that elevator idea it was on streets of rage too lol

i think 1 way u could fix the spawn problem on elevator its to make the walls around the elevator moveing so llike texture them so it looks like the lifts goin down wen its just the textures moving and wen the monsters r all dead it makes the whole room move down too were the next path is.

The elevator is actually going to move down slow. As you pass openings there will be monsters jumping on the elevator. Maybe slow enough there is time to jump off and get a power up then jump back on. Or have switches that advance it further when section of monsters is dead.

the elevator will not have sides but the area of the floor will be big. When it reaches the bottom it will go back to the top. When people die on the elevator they will respawn at the beginning of the map, but can either go wait for the elevator to come back to the top or there teleporter that will teleport you on to the elevator where ever it is. I think that is how it will work.
I am thinking i will make like 3 elevators. Ride one down to a place where you get on another. I am liking the sound of this.
When you get to the very bottom you fight the big boss.

The first path you fight the squid boss
Second path you fight the trooper elite bosses
third path - no ideas yet
Fortn final path elevator level you fight titan or queen
