Oh just wondering, i have heard of mutators that cause your ut to crash like the monster hunt version of enhanced feedback, makes a lot of people crash lol.

Yes, "K" you are certainly correct & I have been negligent in posting these mapping tutorials / tips!
It has been "eating" at me, so I made the time slot (Stayed up later than I should LOL) and I went ahead and posted a number of my UT Mapping Tutorials/Tips here at Hermskii's House under the Mapping section/forum like the number (1) post "Mapping Tips" (sticky) I started some time ago.
These I wrote a few years back but still very much apply to mapping as that hasn't changed.
First learn most of the "Basics" of Mapping - See "K's" tutorial - then Read mine for some fine tuning and how to's!
Please read them all, you newer mappers, and Enjoy mapping!
I'll have to "dig" for some more - I think I have some more!?!?
If anyone needs more (wants to look at others) on Actual Map building like K's tutorial - I have some great tutorials for that also!
Although "K" did a wonderfully Excellent job on hers so other tutorials aren't needed, but are certainly OK to check out for different techniques and viewpoints.

We should get herm to make all of those tuts you posted into one thread and sticky it titled "Hooks Tutorials"
If we don't they will float separately to the bottom of the list as new posts are posted. They wont be easily findable to a new person. It should be stickied.

Those are some nice tuts btw. 8)

I wrote those back when my mind wasn't so hazy! LOL
I still refer to them now as i didn't map for a few years there, and now I have to look back at them to refresh my memory!

I think I have several that are half written still in cold storage, I may finish them sometime. :wink:

came on here to say that in a couple of weeks im going to start on the second version of this map, if there is anything you would like to see changed or fix, go ahead and list them.......
I will start one now

1. make stairs less thick so ppl can run up them.....lol

Get rid of that cube mover in the water section.
Players wont understand when they die , and it looks out of place.

Suggestion.
Make a hallway with the teleporter at the end. Make the hallway to long to swim to the teleporter before the hallway "or some rotating thing ,crushes you. It must be slow enough to notice what is happening in the game or players will be pissed when they die. When the last monster is dead the mover is disabled and the hallway is passable , and the teleporter at the end is accessible.

oooooooookayy that sounds cool actually.
like i said it will be a couple more weeks, goota finish finals and stuff.
Kort thanks for that tip, when i do make version two im just going to refer back to that list of tips you gave me when you first played the map.
I will use it as a check list sort of, but if u have anything you want too add, go ahead im up for anything!

After i make verison two, im going to start (not sure when i will finish) on a map that will be good enough to stick on the server. LOL am i shooting too high for my second map?

I bet the map is good enough to be on the server already though I still have not looked at it yet. I prefer to put finished and tested maps on my server to avoid file mismatches. That is the ONLY reason I haven't tried it or loaded it on the server yet. Finish it. Tell me it's done. I'll use it then. Thanks!

ha but when i totally finish this map you can judge it yourself
but again i seriously doubt that you will want it on your server haha :lol:
