I had a player email me explaining a file was failing to download. I have to admit that I was shocked. I haven't heard about a problem on the servers in years. I was nearly thrilled to have to dig around and find the issue. While finding the wrong case on the UZ file name I also found several other files with the same issue. I have fixed them and notified the player that testing indicates a virgin install of UT can connect and download all needed files to play now.

I invited him to join the forum too! I'm just glad to hear peeps are still trying to play these other servers here at HOH. I suspect their ranking will barely start to move up now but I recall two guys that used to always play on the Chaos and the Unreal4Ever servers. Maybe they will come back.

That same guy sent me another issue report for this server. This time it was the VOODOO file not being sent via high speed redirect download. That was easy enough to fix. I'm just glad he is telling me what he is finding that is broken. I can't understand how these files have issues now either being they were just fine for the last 5 years I thought.

Thanks Doc. I thought it was already advertised over there. This is a well running server. I know there are now file conflicts of some sort based on our last discussion. Chaos is being installed using a new process that conflicts with the original or something like that. Is that right? Try to connect to my UT99 and my UT2K4 Chaos servers and let me know.

I still need to setup my Unreal and UT games on my new gaming rig.
I have not done much gaming for the past year in any form, so I really do need to make use of this new hardware.

Hey! He lives! Good to see you, Doc! Get it installed and connect to my Chaos servers and let me know what I need to do to make them as accessible as possible to all Chaos players. I fear new CHAOS mod builders might be fracturing the original mod more than making it playable everywhere. That said, I will struggle to make any changes to my CHAOS servers that will make them less available. Right now, all you need is a clean install of UT with the 436 patch and I have done all of the rest of the work. It will take a while, but it will download everything needed for anybody to be able to play Chaos mod on both my UT 99 server and my 2K4 server.
