{HOH~CUTS} Change Log

This topic will be stickied. It will contain information about this server and its progress while being built. Once it is done, this will be used to track all change request from players and modifications made to it since going live.

I'll go ahead and start by saying I started building this server about 30 minutes ago. Enough said! LOL

I have the basic server done. I still need to add stuff like MapVote and figure out while a few things aren't working the way I expect them to all of the time but I'm actually a lot further along than Ithought I'd be since I didn't use UMODS to build the thing. I tried to advertise it but it just won't do it yet. That is fine.

That is good news. Can you see it in the regular Master List when you search DM servers? I had forgotten how many game types ChaosUT offered. I may be doing lots of fancy tweaking with the MapVote and the columns to offer at least 4 different versions. KOTH, AKA King Of The Hill comes to mind as does Chaos Arena along with DeathMatch Chaos and O don't know yet about the last one. Maybe CTF?

I still have tons of little tweaks to make but as a whole, the primary guts are there and tested to be functional. I already have a small list of things to do to it and each itme will require a little bit of effort. I forgot to turn back on CG and MHM last night. Shucks!

Yes, CTF is a good option as it is still more popular than DM lately - these 2 kinda go back and forth for tops, but mostly CTF is.

Let me know if you want a good score board or map tweaker mod.
I run both on CLD, and everyone seems to love em

- even the M word uses the map tweaker now.

Oh - somebody else will have to search the regular masters as those haven't worked for me since I installed Eavys Server Browser - remember?
I usually just install IPs in my Favorites.

I now have all sorts of free remote control software available to me from my work meaning I can use the tools I use at work all of the time to work on other people's PCs from here. You call and give me a day and time and I'll remote in to your PC and resolve all of your issues HOOK as you watch what I'm doing! Works real good with a phone call or a voice over IP like MSN messenger voice at the same time.

HOH Chaos shows up on DM game list but I can't get in because "server refuses to send" a file, I think it was called, "Chaostex".

Yeah, I already caught and fixed it. I am not happy so far. I'm having lots of little issues. While I'm working through them slowly, you QuakeII players that are so familiar with this mod are going to be unhappy so far. Not, that I said so far. I'm about to start a new topic about what I have found so far that I'm not liking.

I got in and it's not the Chaos I remember, but I wouldn't call it disappointing.
I admit I was looking forward to the weapons I cut my teeth on...exploding arrows, laser mines, proximity mines, etc.
I did see a vortex tornado, but it wasn't the scary as heck animated VT of my memory.
The turrets did look the same and I had forgotten about those...didn't use them even back then.
I couldn't get the grappling hook going, but I probably need to bind it to work.
CUTs runs very well though and that's worth a big smile right there!

The UT2K4 version of this mod is the way to go. It has the laser mines and everything. The grappling hook not working is one of the issues I'm trying to work through right now. I have not yet researched it to figure out what I have set wrong. The gravitron thing and the turrets are my fav's in UT99 version of this mod.

Right now, it is 98.197.145.227:7777 BUT I'm not real happy withit so far and I have to put fixing it on hold while complete a full set of backups for all of the computers in the house which are many! Also, I do still expect to complater that task tonight and will continue with the new server efforts which will require me to turn off all HOH servers. Peace!
