An FYI...
Auto Redirects at GameServers.com hosted UT servers (Like CLD and MHMIII) have a little "glitch".
The first time a file downloaded is when GameServers will auto-compress a file.
After that, the Redirect DownLoad is fast - for the next time!
For now though - When a map is Slow to Down Load, just click on Reconnect in the UT Console Window.
Then it goes lightening fast! - Well, Fast anyway! :wink:

Also a bit of a change at CLD ...
I added the YELLOW-Deemer (turned it "ON") to {CLD} now - just to try it out more and also to be an Alternate to the ORANGE-Deemer.
(Some Players Love the ORANGE-Deemer but also Want the Large Blast Radius)
The YELLOW-Deemer's missile speed is quite a bit Faster than the ORANGE-Deemer's is, and has a Large Blast Radius. :shock:
Quite FUN in Larger maps! :lol:
It is virtually the Same Redeemer as the MEAT-Deemer excepting the scope :lol: and the custom MRS skin that the MEAT-Deemer had added to it.
I believe that the YELLOW-Deemer is also Faster (missile speed) than the Meat-Deemer - not sure though - gotta go look at the MEAT-Deemer again. :roll:
The YELLOW-Deemer is Now in MapVote Column 2, replacing the PirateDeemerCMM, for now anyway.
Only caveat is that you cannot Alt-Fire/Ride-n-Glide the YELLOW-Deemer, as it would be too hard to control riding it. :roll:
Only Left-Click firing. - But Fast! :wink:

Note: If you want to play using the PirateDeemerCMM, it is On and Dominating on the {CRW} server! :wink: (When it is Running)
BUT, I will probably be adding the PirateDeemerCMM Back in to CLD soon, as many players Love that Deemer also! :P

OK Gang - In ADDITION to the Above Posting - Some CLD News tidbits...
A few changes to our "Signature" Server LOL :lol: -> CLD

1) We NOW have SPAWN PROTECTION! - Yep, and it is an ALL New one. :P
(not Eavy's) :wink: Helen wrote it! (a member over at HUTP)
MEAT has been at me for a long time about this for me to add it. (so I did - at least to TRY it)
I found a newly coded one that I like and so I am giving it a try.
Of course All of these settings can be changed and are optional but here is how CLD's are Currently set...
You are protected for a minimum of 2 seconds and a maximum of 5 seconds.
In other words, if you shoot at someone you will have 2 seconds of protection no matter what - but only between 2 seconds and when you fire your weapon - or the 5 seconds runs out.
Whichever comes first.
If you shoot another player while you are protected, you loose 20% of Your own health and you become UN-protected after the minimum 2 seconds are up of course.
If another player shoots You while you are protected, they loose ALL of their health or 100%. (they die) :roll:

2) We have Added a Laser Site. Yep! - Just for FUN! :lol:
Or, more like a Red Laser Dot site.
WARNING: IF you see a red Laser Flash in your eyes you had better get out of there! :lol:
WARNING: IF you see more than your own laser dot on the wall - yeah you guessed it - you had better get out of there! :lol:
The best use of this is the "Warning" part of it. (above)
It Warns BOTH the Bots and You of course, so if you flash a bot with your Laser Dot, he WILL respond as he should!

3) Individual Map Tweaking!!! Yep - (And Not using Bodens! Yuck!) This is a COOL one!
I am kinda letting the "Cat Out of the Bag" on this one because I have been using this for a while now and am still adding and tweaking certain maps.
CLD is only the Second Server (or ONE of TWO, CLD and Helen's, to try it at the same time) to use this New Mod that I helped just a bit in developing by suggesting a few things to add to it. (No it wasn't authored by Gopo)
I looked for a long time and could not find a mod like I wanted like this one! (none found until now & Bodens was Only Close)
Custom Tweaking for EACH Map or use Defaults...

In Addition to the above posts... (more CLD News)

We have Now Added a NEW "NO BOTs" Section! (Or RE-Added it back - as we used to have it on CMM)
This is so that Real Players can play Maps without bots if they wish - Only REAL Players!
It is in the First Column in MapVote - so far.
(We will add more of these NB sections to other Columns as well most likely)
This First "NO Bots" section will be using the ORANGE-Deemer.
Actually, there is ONE (1) Bot in these maps that will appear with only one real player in the server.
Of course, if 2 or more real players come in to the server, that one bot will be replaced by a real player.
So, with 2 or more real players, there will be only real players in this server when you pick a No Bots map.

The Base Bot Skill for these No-Bots maps will be set at "adept".
This is to give a Real Player something to do while waiting for the other Real Player(s) to join in.

Title of First Column: ORANGE-Deemer+NoBots
Prefix for NO Bots Maps: NBoDM
"NB" = No Bots / "o" = ORANGE-Deemer / "DM" = Death Match

I have placed only 4 maps in the NO Bots section to try so far.
More choice maps will be added to the No Bots section(s) as these first 4 work great! :wink:

Also - working on a new (Altered) Redeemer mod for CLD - still kicking the idea around. :? :wink:

Also - I have missed playing Sniper - so...
I added a newer "Zark" Rifle Game with 9 initial maps - See Column 4 in MapVote.
I did this "sight unseen" (and made up my own "int" file) from a remote location so I have not tested it. :roll:
Let me know if it works. (I will try it out myself tonight)

I still have issues with your radar.
...it only works up to a certain distance.
...and it's hard to see because of the crosshairs.
And what is this Warning you mention on your ServerAdd?
I'll throw it out to ya... it would be pretty cool if you actually did
have a warning signal go off if someone hit you with there radar.
Just a thought.

RADAR issue ...it only works up to a certain distance.
How far out do you want it to go??? :?
Real Radar has limits also - currently, the radar, when used on CLD, goes out about 7,000 map world units.
That is quite far - a lot of maps aren't even that big! :shock:

RADAR issue ...and it's hard to see because of the crosshairs.
Take off your crosshairs then - that is done client side as I have posted before.
Actually, I see the radar just fine.
I do not see where the radar figures get in the way of the crosshairs anyway.
Crosshairs SHOULD stay centered in the middle of your screen.
The Radar readouts usually are all over the screen - in the direction of other players and bots.
Maybe are you confusing the "Radar" with the "Laser Dot Sight"? :?
The Laser Dots are highly visible to me. :P

And what is this Warning you mention on your ServerAdd?

Another good thing about this to use...
Look for other player's red laser dots back in dark areas, etc. - if they aren't careful where they flash it, it can give away their position. :mrgreen:

I'll keep it in mind for the altered new Redeemer mod I am working on. :P

I added a newer "Zark" Rifle Game (version 6), with A Good Selection of initial maps - See Column 4 in MapVote.
The bots are pretty good with this mod - maybe a bit too good. :roll:

And we added Spawn Protection recently - Not sure if we will keep it for deemer or not. :|

Yeah that's what it is... "Laser Dot Sight".
But I see no need to remove crosshairs because it serves the same purpose as the dot.
And with my style of play crosshairs are easier to see and aim with.
Plus at a distance (on larger maps) the Laser isn't visible.

But that warning signal is a great idea...maybe I'll add it my server?

Redeemer, like ice cream, should come in no more than 3 flavors. Anything else is overkill . . .

Actually, The laser dot is mostly a novelty or just for fun, and wasn't really intended to use to aim with - as I have stated several times before.
Aiming was not its purpose really, and the Laser Dot is not meant to replace the crosshairs at all.
It is best used for the warning part of it and also to see where other players may be hiding by seeing their Laser Dot shining out of where they are hiding, etc.
It also alerts you to when someone has their crosshairs on You! (you will see their dot in your eyes or near you - at ANY distance) :wink:

Yes, but variety is good I think, and I believe we have those main 3 "flavors".

1) We have "Vanilla" - {CG}, {SRA}occassionally and "other" "normal" Redeemer servers out there.

And, 2) We have "Chocolate" - Redeemer servers like the servers that run the Strangelove mod.

Then 3) We have "Baskin-Robbins" or "Bridgemans" servering up "New York Vanilla" with "Rich Chocolate Syrup" on it on servers like {CLD} and {MRS}.

Basically 3 Main "Flavors" I believe. :wink: (but Variety is nice I think - keeps it interesting over time) :P
I love ALL of the flavors and do not wish to see any of them go!
