Yep - we now have PUMPKINs for Everybody when you Play on{CLD}!
Not just any ordinary Pumpkins - these Pumpkins are GOOD for you! :wink:
The more Pumpkins you EAT, the More HEALTH you have!
When you accumulate a lot of Health points - you can actually withstand (and live) through a Redeemer hit! :shock:

Each Pumpkin you find and Gobble down is worth 100 Health Points!
Up to a Maximum of 600 Health Points total.
(Even Better than Med Boxes!) :o

They do Not replace the med boxes - those stay as is.
They randomly appear in the server's maps and are there just for Fun and Halloween. :wink:
More like a relic I would say.
And, unlike med boxes, these can actually Save your hide when hit by a nuke and you have Gobbled a few of them. :o
It actually adds a bit to the game as they appear anywhere and are both a target and a wanted pickup.
Well, along with a Bunch of New and Quality maps - Enjoy the Pumpkins! :wink:

Well, Actually Not really - SB and I like a good variety is all - Not ONLY Low gravity. LOL And Not for every map either.
Why did you think that about SB and I SOD?
I agree (and SB I am sure does also) that Some maps are great with a "Low" gravity and Some are good with a "Regular" Gravity, and Some, Set somewhere in Between the 2 extreme ends.
(I simply HAD to clarify) :roll:

SOD, if you are referring to {CLD} - We aren't just Low Gravity for all - Not at all.
Some maps do Not have low gravity there.
Although the Majority of Players on CLD LOVE the lowered Gravity settings we use there!
(we do NOT use the "Low gravity" setting at all, we Adjust the Gravity - and certainly NOT for the whole server, or for each game type either)

At CLD we have been "Adjusting" the Gravity, for One thing, and (at least) 12 other adjustments (including the number of Bots, Bot Skill and Temperament, etc.) also, for EACH map!
We adjust Each Single map accordingly - NOT just a group of maps "lumped" for any one game-type.
We are still in this process - it takes a lot of Testing, Tweaking and Trials to do this painstaking task.
We do Not just set the server for one "low gravity" check-box setting.
And that doesn't even get into the Bots really - they are another whole set of tweaks!
The Special CLD Bots are also Individually Tweaked according to an exhaustively long process of Trials and Tests.
We took notes on how well a bot actually played with differently configured tweaks.
In fact, most of our bots are set to "Novice" as a default server setting, but you would think they are set much higher.
We found out some surprising tweaks that kept the Bots from blowing themselves up so much when playing redeemer.
And you will see this on CLD how the bots will act more human-like.
I actually find myself manually checking the score board sometimes just to make sure a bot is a bot and not a real player. :shock: :lol:

EDIT - An Update...
Just 3 more days of Halloween on CLD. :P
Reminder - We are featuring Good Maps to Play around Halloween this year. (see MapVote Column 1 with the "hallo" prefix)
Also, the Super Health Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkins will be featured on CLD.
(On through Halloween - then back to the way we had it)
Try them out through this weekend - then they are gone. :shock:

Be sure to PLAY "DM-HollowsEve" - but Watch Out for the Bugs and other nasty stuff - and Especially the TRAP! :shock: :o :?

Some NEWS...
I have been kicking around adding Normal Weapons DM for a while now, as {CLD}'s owner loves Regular DM also.
I have also had requests from several players to add it. (I listened)
I like and miss Regular DM also quite a bit. :P

I am in the process of incorporating Regular Weapons DM into {CLD} now.

Here is how the MapVote Columns will be set up for Trial...

MapVote List 1 = STINGER + NO-Bots <-(DM w/Stinger-Deemer + DM w/Stinger-Deemer NO Bots!)
MapVote List 2 = FASTnFurious-Deemer <-(DM w/FASTnFurious-Deemer)
MapVote List 3 = TDM+CTF STINGER <-(TDM w/Stinger-Deemer + CTF w/Stinger-Deemer)
MapVote List 4 = RegularDM + Zark-V6 <-(DM Normal Weapons + DM Normal Weapons w/ZARK-V6 Rifle)

So we will have (at least) 7 ways to play on CLD.

This will be in place for Trial (for now)...
... probably at least until the New "SUPER-Deemer" is delivered anyway.
NOTE: I call this new mod that is coming "SUPER-Deemer" for now - for lack of a better final name yet.
We are working on incorporating between 10 and 15+ Improvements and New Ideas into this new "super" Redeemer mod.

ALSO in the {CLD} News...
We are trying something NEW in the 2nd Column of MapVote maps.
This 2nd column has the FASTnFurious-Deemer (aka Yellow-Deemer - Similar to the MEAT/Scope-Deemer, but no scope is all) and this Redeemer type has a Large Blast.
As we all know, BOTs just do Not play Redeemer Arena very well, mainly because they "forget" how large the blast is from their weapon and Blow themselves to powder a lot.
Bots use a Redeemer even firing it at close range like it was a regular weapon such as a rifle or hand gun is why they fail with Redeemers.
On {CLD} we have Already Specially Tweaked the bots especially to be able to play Redeemer Better to minimize this self destruction quite a bit in a effort to keep it from happening as much, and it has worked Very Well.
The Bot's self-destruction problem is virtually gone from the Stinger-Deemer games also because of the Tweaking etc., but it is still there in the FASTnFurious-Deemer games a bit too much.
So, to help remedy this in the FASTnFurious-Deemer map Column game type on {CLD}, we are trying out an Experiment and made it so the bots sustain NO Damage from Their Own missiles.
Actually, the Same for Real Players too.
You will now notice that the bots Generally Kick some Serious Butt when playing the 2nd Column maps with the FASTnFurious-Deemer.
The Bot's scores are much more like real Players with Virtually No negative scores, etc.
In fact, they have been doing Better than many real players now with the playing field more leveled now. :shock:

Regular "Normal/Stock" Weapons DM (Death Match) is NOW HERE on {CLD}!!! - 4th Column in MapVote

Also, in Addition the the above "Normal Weapons" DM, a ZARK-Vers6 Rifle (the Latest) mod option map list is Still there also - in 4th Column in MapVote!
This is Normal DM with the Zark Added in for some Thrills and Zing and has the zarkDM map prefix.

Well, not ALL of the server - Just Column 4 in MapVote.
Columns 1, 2 and 3 will still have the STINGER-Deemer and the FASTnFurious-Deemer.
That 4th Column we changed now and will have the Regular Weapons DM and also the Regular Weapons DM w/Zarkv6 also in that 4th Column.
From what I understand, we'll be getting quite a few more players that have been "waiting in the wings" for {CLD} to add this DM section.
Quite a few people/players have asked for it and several say they will have many more players coming if it is added in to {CLD}.
They really like CLD but also wanted the DM section to put the icing on the cake.
We will Try it out and We will see. :P

A {CLD} UPDATE on Adding Normal Weapons DM ...
Well, I rearranged, adjusted, added/subtracted and tweaked {CLD}'s line up over the past day or so.
There were a few problems that cropped up that were probably more due to my age than anything. :roll: :lol:
When I took an over all look this morning I said to myself "ahaaa, just what I thought - How/why did I do that blatant error in MapVote?!?!" LOL
Obvious errors and/or typos were now easily seen with a night's sleep under my belt. :wink:
Another problem was TOO MANY MAPS - Yep! :?
MapVote was Maxed Out :shock: and I had to put some limits on how many maps it loaded in a Gametype or two, but Not a big problem - all set now. :wink:

All in All, {CLD} is really coming around and things are working pretty darn good. (did I just jynx it?)
{CLD} is headed UP and in the Right Direction! :P

I still have ONE (1) main bug to fix -> Finding what is causing a Certain few maps to not work on the server.
These "Certain few maps" work every where else though!
These few maps all have ALL of their needed support files for sure - that is Not an issue.
I have narrowed it down (I believe) to some Stock File that all of these maps use that is corrupted somehow.
Being it is a stock file, it is very difficult to find which one it is.
Especially on a rental server where many of the stock support files are merely place-holders for the real files.
There are many actual stock files on there though also so not an easy task to find which one (or 2) is doing the dirty deed.
Most maps use many of these files automatically - this makes it very difficult to find which one.
For now - I will keep searching.
It only affects a couple of maps - no more than 4 or 5 I think.
A few [WOLF] maps and a couple of other so-so maps, so it isn't a big issue if they never work LOL :lol:
(There are very few [WOLF] maps even worth looking at any way - most of them are not very good)

Anyway, like I said, {CLD} is really coming around and things are working pretty darn good now.
No redirect problems either - this is working great and is VERY FAST I have noticed - even at my distance from the server which is located in Los Angeles CA USA.
GameServers seems to have fixed that one for good I hope. :P

We are now patiently awaiting the arrival of the tentatively named "SUPER-Deemer2011" mod that has been and is currently being built for {CLD}.
Development is a little slow going but is going pretty good - like aging a good beverage I guess.
I can hardly wait to unveil it to the public.

Well, Halloween is Over (and was very FUN) and {CLD} has returned to its more "Standard" configuration.
(No more Pumpkins LOL) :lol:
Here is Most of our {CLD} News in one post...
(nut shell?)

An UPDATE... (a lot of News)
Regular "Normal/Stock" Weapons DM (Death Match) is NOW HERE on {CLD}!!! - 4th Column in MapVote!
This has the nwDM map prefix. (Normal Weapons)

Also, in Addition the the above "Normal Weapons" DM, a ZARK-Vers6 Rifle (the Latest) mod option map list is Still there also - in 4th Column in MapVote!
This is Normal DM with the Zark Added in for some Thrills and Zing and has the zkDM map prefix.

AND...

{CLD} is really coming around and things are working pretty darn good now.
No redirect problems either - this is working great and is VERY FAST I have noticed - (Faster than most) - even at my distance from the server which is located in Los Angeles CA USA.
GameServers seems to have fixed that one for good I hope. :P

Now for the Great News...
We currently Run one of the Newest (Many think the Best) Redeemer mod out there that includes (but not limited to) the "PirateDeemerCMM"(currently "off"), the "STINGER-Deemer" and the "FAST-N-Furious-Deemer" + others - But, here is the exciting part...
We are now patiently awaiting the arrival of the tentatively named "SUPER-Deemer2011" mod that has been and is currently being built for {CLD}.
(we call it "SUPER-Deemer" for lack of a final name yet)
Development is a little slow going but is going pretty good - like aging a good beverage I guess. :o
I can hardly wait to unveil it to the public. :P

It should "Literally" Blow Anything Out There (other redeemer arena mods anyway) right out of the Water! :lol:
It will be a great compliment to standard redeemer arenas though too, for a real change of pace.

AND - NEW PLAYERS of Redeemer - READ THIS! :P
PS: If you are one of those UT players who are a bit "put off" by redeemer arenas in general, please give {CLD} a try. - Here is why Newbies should try it here at CLD...
Players that are New to playing Redeemer tend to blow themselves up a lot.
Well, that problem is now Solved at {CLD}!!!
Because - in the {CLD} News...
We are trying something NEW in the 2nd Column of MapVote maps. (and 1 other also)
This 2nd column has the FASTnFurious-Deemer (aka Yellow-Deemer - Same as the MEAT/Scope-Deemer, but no scope is the only real difference along with a small, less annoying and less view blocking weapon HUD of the F-N-F-Deemer), and this F-N-F-Redeemer type has a Large Blast. :shock:
As we all know, BOTs just do Not play Redeemer Arena very well, mainly because they "forget" how large the blast is from their weapon and Blow themselves to powder a lot.
Bots use a Redeemer even firing it at close range like it was a regular weapon such as a rifle or hand gun is why they tend to fail with Redeemers.
On {CLD} we have Already Specially Tweaked the bots especially to be able to play Redeemer Better to minimize this self destruction quite a bit in a effort to keep it from happening as much, and it has worked Very Well.
The Bot's self-destruction problem is virtually gone from the Stinger-Deemer games also because of the Tweaking etc., but it is (or was) still there in the FASTnFurious-Deemer games a bit too much.
So, to help remedy this (and Help out the New Players) in the FASTnFurious-Deemer map Column game type on {CLD}, we are trying out an Experiment and made it so the bots sustain NO Damage from Their Own missiles.
Actually, the Same for Real Players too. (think New Players here also)
You will now notice that the bots Generally Kick some Serious Butt when playing the 2nd Column maps with the FASTnFurious-Deemer.
The Bot's scores are much more like Real Players with Virtually No negative scores, etc.
In fact, they have been doing Better than many real players now with the playing field more leveled now. :shock:
We will watch and see how this goes.
