It's ALIVE!

{HOHCUT2K4} is alive and has a heartbeat! Don't go looking for it just yet since it will still be offline for a while. I still have to set up all of the redirect files etc so it will still be a while but I did install all of the base files to the server today and launched it and successfully advertized on the internet AND I connected to it as well!

I love this version of Chaos! I think this server will soon hold the record for LOL's compared to my other servers! FUN!

It's up! It's on! It's going! I've been playing with one of the original creators of Chaos all morning! He's says it is looking great and he too can't wait to bring in a bunch of old regulars to get playing again. I think I may have one of the few remaining Chaos servers on the planet. Lucifer and one other are the only other folks I know who currently run a Chaos server! I'm going to go get that gametracker thing for you now. Peace!

Gametracker won't resolve the UT2204 Chaos server. I don't know why. While you can just click and join if you have UT2004 and the ECE Bonus pack, you will be much better off installing the actual Chaos for UT2004 UMOD and the ECE Bonus Pack before you join. Well I was on there a short while ago. I forgot that I had changed my player skin and name to "Dominatrix" when they brought out one of the free bonus upgrade packs back when the game was new.
I thought I saw you there briefly on one map Herm, so yeah, that was me.

I've changed back to aNamelessEntity but I am keeping that female skin because it still makes me laugh when I see it, and she just seems so apropos for Chaos UT2k4.

I got dropped by the server twice, but that is probably at my end. I've had nothing but headaches trying to play L2 on a server in Germany for at least 10 days. I saw a van from my ISP out in the street twice last week, so perhaps they're aware of a problem. Maybe they'll even fix it.

Otherwise, everything ran fine. The ping was good, and the game play smooth. I played several maps and was able to remember the basic layout of them. I actually won on one map against the bots, so I'd say they are set up pretty well. Most of the time they chew me up quickly. I need to get used to the weapons and all of those pickups. I'm not sure what many of them do at the moment.

It is nice to have a place to play UT2k4 again.
