These maps have some performance lag issues, per Keller and 21.
I don't know if its the maps or the server but me and 21 are getting performance lag a lot, not sure, setttings may need to be checked helen.

DM-Syrion
DM-EpitoweSE
DM-Zerozealoth
DM-Antargos
DM-ArenaN23

Probably impossible to find now but there's a map called DM-FromDuskTilDawn that was absolutely gorgeous. Extremely finely tuned detail, exceptional quality. It was like not being in the game at all, like you actually stepped inside the Titty Twister.

So, naturally, the problem was that with all that detail (we're talking both audo & visual) the map supremely lagged. Even on the best computer it chugged at such a slow pace.

It was like playing inside a vat of hardening cement.

DM-FromDuskTilDawn is still out there on a few DL sites.
I HAVE it also!!! :P
It was playable - even on my old comp - we used to play it a lot years ago.
Well done, but something made it lag quite a bit in places. :|

There may be more than one version of that DM. I recently found a Monster Hunt version on KillerBee's servers.

I'd be interested in cracking open that map and making it playable if possible. Sometime.

Hmmm, even on my old comp it plays Fairly OK - a good amount of lag, but not unplayable. :|
A cool map to look at though. And Hear!

Doesn't lag at all if you disable dynamic lighting. Playing with DL enabled you get around 30 fps in the outside area (with an entry level GPU).

I do not agree with the ReadMe written by the author though. He makes it sound like people should make maps having high-end rigs in their minds, but the Unreal engine got limitations and even if you may have a DodecaCore 128 bit system with 1 Terabyte of RAM and a Quad-SLI GPU, a badly built map will still cause you lag no matter what. :|

Yes, good advice POTS!
But, maybe play it (or look around in it) with Dynamic Lighting on once to see the difference, if any.

I usually play with Dynamic Lighting OFF also for less lag, but if you should require flashlights, as in a few MH maps, then you will need to turn Dynamic Lighting ON in that case.
(one time in a MH game I was wondering why everyone else could see in this dark passage - except me - my Dynamic Lighting was off LOL)

I also think time may be a factor. The computer I have today can handle that map a lot better than the computer i had when that map was first released.

Thanks, I had a look at it. I remember playing that once many years ago too. Good to look at, not too playable though. Not lag-wise, but structure-wise.

Here I go shooting off my mouth again but are you sure that dynamic lighting is what you see with flashlights? I ask because flashlights always seemed to work for me and I always have dynamic lighting and coronas set to off.

I'm old and tired so take it easy on me in the answer please.
~Peace~

I gotta look more into this one Hermskii.
What I said actually happened while playing MH with a few of the old MHM gang.

Also, are you HOME now?

Anybody ever tried this one?

Review says you'd need a supercomputer to even move around on it.
