No mods. I have not looked at any mods at all for this and I will like usual try to avoid them too since I'm still so new to this web stuff. What is the possible ban toy that Scify gave you? How does it work. I have never banned a cheater but do want to know about how they work and if they work on my servers.

Mostly because of the way MH is coded cheats are useless. The mod uses custom monster scripts so radars are useless to see them (who cares if you know where the other players are) and you'd have to code an aimbot to look for the particular actor to "see" the monsters so that is pretty useless too. Yeah you could target you teammates with a bot and shoot them but running an antiboost only makes them slightly annoying. There are some client side crashers and chat spammers but they are mostly unused and very hard to find and make work.

This comes with a little bit of authority because as I was making my radar for MH, I downloaded a bunch of the latest cheat packages and dinked around some with them. I was very (pleasantly) surprised at how little they affected an MH game.

Caveat: I wanted to see client replication of radars in case you are wondering and aside from a couple of tactical mods there are no radars released for non-cheat UT. That's why I looked into the cheat boards. If you spend time on them, you will run across my posts. Yes, I use "gopostal" on them because I don't care if people see me on a cheat board. I like to see what's available because as an admin I think knowledge is power. There is no sense in hushed PM's along the lines of "gopo is registered to XXX cheats since 2005?!?!?"

It's a skin changer AKA skin hack. Basically it cycles through UT texture packs changing your default skin with lava, water, flare, etc. textures with no need to disconnect/reconnect everytime you change skin like when you use skin codes. It's not a real cheat IMO but on most public servers you'll be kicked/banned cause some dark skins *might* give you a certain advantage and/or camouflaging ability.
BTW it's a client-side mod and unless you install an anticheat mod like UTPure or AnthChecker everyone can use it on your servers. Hope it helps.

Now, to get back on topic here....

OMG, I LOVE THIS NEW LOOK! FINALLY, IT HAS BEEN DONE!!! YAY

Whew, now that is over & the worry of spambots are a thing of the past, we could finally enjoy all the goodies once again what this forum has to offer.

Btw, this version is 3.0.4, right? Just can't tell since I don't see a version number below. Also saw the few new mods that could be added on if wanted here: http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... &start=800

Yes. I messed up during this upgrade and ended up doing it the hardway. I first upgraded from 2.0.22 to 3.02 and the I had to update from 3.02 to 3.04 and trust me all of this was a huge pain because of my webspace provider placing limits on how much bandwidth they gave me in regards to communication with their servers during this transition. For 2 days straight the conversion failed every time because they had a setting wrong that they denied. I finally took a picture of the error and sent it to them. They then made the change and the forum was finally upgradable! Thats Flatus for the kind remarks and inspiration.

No problem man, it just had to be done for the long term survival of the forum! Now just don't take another 5+ years to do another needed upgrade.
