Holy Irish Green. I thought that there was a drunk Irishman that took over House of Hermskii. New look took me by surprise.
Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

Re: {HOH} Website and Forum Change Log
Hey Herm,
I was trying to contact a member by both hotmail and a PM here in the forum. I got a reply to my hotmail, so I tried to delete the PM. But so far as I can tell, you can't delete a PM once it's in your Outbox. So I had to edit the PM for the time being. At least I was still able to do that with it, even though it had been waiting for pickup for nearly a week.
Can the board be reset to allow deletion of no longer wanted Outbox messages?

I don't look at or manage people's personal messages. I do feel that is something the people should manage themselves. I have kept all of my messages but it doesn't mean anyone else should have to.
You are telling me this is a setting I manage? I'll try to look around and see what I find for it. Feel free to drop me hints.

Re: {HOH} Website and Forum Change Log
Yeah well before the change to the present Green board software, you could delete any PM in your outbox if you wanted to. ie: A PM would sit in your outbox until the recipient logged on to the message board. Once he did, it went into his inbox and was gone from your control. But if you decided to delete it before he returned to the message board, you could get rid of it, or edit it and resend.
Now however, with the way things are, you can still edit a message in your outbox, but you cannot delete it.
It would just be nice to get that deletion option back again, if the new software permits it.
It was kind of dumb to have a no longer relevant PM sitting in my outbox, so I had to edit it to a greeting as the original message had been answered via hotmail, and I could not get rid of the redundant PM.

YAY!
I finally basically fixed the old original webpage. I did not fix the links for the map packs or the how to manual. I will doo the manual shortly but the mappacks are no longer valid and I don't have copies and they really aren't needed now that nobody uses 56k modems anymore.

Re: {HOH} Website and Forum Change Log
Well this looks different, doesn't it?
While it is not my total preference, the old forum was out of date as far as security goes.
The old forum style was limited in size and this one uses the whole page.
I decided to update one and then I decided to update the other. This is where we landed!
Your thoughts?

So, you have 2 forums going?
Or was it that you updated the old look forum and also installed this new look forum?
I certainly love This blue version over the old green version.

I like it.
Probably gonna need to change my userpic, though. Was using the Iron Lantern for the previous color scheme.

Re: {HOH} Website and Forum Change Log
Thanks all. Same forum HOOK. I just updated the security features on the back-end database side and then I upgraded the skin it uses to this one. I was in a hurry and very worried I'd break something really bad but I lucked out and finished with this. I will keep this look for a while but sure do miss the black and gold I had about 5 years back.

GameTracker
For years I have listed these HOH servers on GameTracker. Once a year I end up having to re-add them to this service because of a power out I was unaware of. No more. Too much of a pain in the butt. I never watched to see these ratings over the last many years so there is just no point.
I also took down the HOH UT2K4 CHAOS server. Nobody played it except Nameless and he doesn't have his own working PC so there is no point to running this server anymore. It is now gone and has been for about 6 months if I forgot to mention it.
