{HOH} Website and Forum Change Log

Changes I make for the Website and this forum will be posted here. Changes members request in regards to the Website and this Forum should also be posted here.

I'll start! I think I'm going to re-separate the {CG} and {MHM} forum into two separate forums. I'm not sure though yet.

As most of you know, I have recently really locked down this place to ensure it stays family friendly and to ensure members here are always as comfortable as possible.

It is really kind of neat being that non-members can't see anything going on in here. Try it! Log out and then try to view this forum as a guest! It is like we are behind a firewall and going forward, only certain members here will determine who will be allowed to join our ranks and who will get to stay that are already here. I positive that this is the best route for us "right now" until it is determined to be done a better way. Peace all!

I got rid of Fuzz_Balls forum. I re-seperated the {CG} and {MHM} forums. I added a forum link that can take you straight to HOOK's UT Place! I tried my best to move all of the MH related content back into the {MHM} forum. I stickied this!

It is about time for me to update the forum. I've let it slip a few versions from being up to date. I hate doing the upgrade because it always errors out real bad and I'm always concerned I have screwed it all up. At some point I figure it out and make it all work though luckily.I also can never recall if I'm runningany mods which I don't think I am. That matters big time during these upgrades. I'd like to add several things here like a shout box and a member usgae notification bar at the bottom like at HOOK's place. My biggest issue is trying to fix stuff when to me it doesn't seem broken in the first place. I hate it when I tinker with something and make it worse.

Yes, that stuff would be great to have added here at HOH.
We have actually had the Chatroom (still there), and the shout box for many years.
Just pointed the chatroom out more recently - and also turning "on" the shoutbox again after disabling it years back.
Of course the member usage stats have always been there.

I segmented HOOK and added Helen's stuff to a new catagory here called something like Suggested Sites. Iexpect to grow this section over time with the likes of having likes to MARS007 and possibly others.

I also expect to find the time to update my personal webpage and will continue moving some things around in here to try to make it work the best I can with what I have. I'm taking suggestions too but keep in mind I'm not very good with any of this web type stuff.

I am not sure if it could be done but, here is my idea. I think it would be nice to be able to see a real time game play (who is on and which servers) on the various servers related to this forum, such as Hermskii's, Helen's, Hook's, Fuzzball servers at the bottom of the forum.

What I mean about the real time play info is this..

But have them for all the related servers on the bottom of the main page of the forum so, if I was surfing the forum I could see that people are playing on a certain related server and I could join if I so wish to do so.

Just an idea.

Great idea but I don't know how to do it. I think HOOK's main webpage has that at the bottom but like mine it is not on his forum.

I checked everything last night and it is set up to do subscriptions. I don't know why it isn't working. I will go to the support forums and find out what is going on. I'd bet off hand that my provider is blocking them. My mass email didn't work right so we did a work around a while back. It works now or last I checked but I need to look there too. When I get home I'll check and see if I got the notification also, I'll try to send myself an email from here right now. Peace!

Sure enough! I checked the forum settings and sent myself some test emails. the ones going through SMTP did not come but then I switched back from that to forum email the way it used to be set and sent myself some email and they came through. An actual notification came through. I have never gotten one of these before from my forum. Cool!

Please test it a bunch and let me know if this is all better for you folks. I bet this breaks my mass-email feature again. I need to move this whole place to a new provider and call in a pro to fix all my broken crap here.
