This forum is being spammed...

So my provider sent me an email warning me that this forum is pounding their servers.

LOL! Really? This little forum is causing them trouble. Hahahaha. I have been reviewing the logs all night and I think I know what is being done to this forum. I have a couple of solutions too but don't be shocked if it has to go offline a few days.

I'm shocked to hear this being this forum isn't big or busy but in the background, it is being used very hard by somebody apparently. I'm going to seek a little bit of help while I make my plans for fixing this.

I'll post about this more when I determine my plan of action fully. Peace out people!

I'm hoping this isn't in anyway related to me. I host all my images via livejournal and they've been under a DDoS attack for the better part of the last month.

I have impressed myself here a little bit. I was able to guess what was happening before I had professional confirm it. I have completed 3 steps towards the solution but still have about 4 to go. I am waiting for additional professional assistance but I'm pretty sure I have already reduced the issue about 60 - 80%. The last steps seem too complicated for me to complete alone. I'll get them done in the next few days anyways with help.

As of right now, I'm predicting that this forum will not be taken down but I can't say for sure yet. I'm just trying to keep you folks updated as best I can.

I may have to lock down this forum again as far as whether non-logged-in-members can view it. If you are a member and logged in you'll see everything like normal but if you aren't a member you won't be able to see squat. That will be a last resort but we'll see. I feel pretty good that everything is going to be alright. Peace out folks!

Oh yeah. It was on purpose. It was exactly what I guessed it was in the first place too. I'm lucky with guesses like that sometimes. If it starts happening to you HOOK, let me know and I'll tell you what and how to take action about it.

I'm not going to point any fingers because this was such a little deal to me that I never tried to identify who did it. I don't know at all who it was. I don't care. It is good that these things happen now and then to keep me alert and to keep me self aware that somebody is jealous of me and this place and the servers and the people I enjoy here. That always gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling inside I love so much!
