TeamSpeak
I have had a chance to play with TeamSpeak. I like it. I may run it for us here. Any thoughts? You like it? You hate it? You don't know what it is? What???

Re: TeamSpeak
It is a very well done program that is basically IRC designed for gaming and on steroids of the best kind. LOL. It is a Skype voice chat room that can be managed by anyone in it to talk, share files, change to other rooms and all sorts of cool stuff.
Say I have TeamSpeak set up for {HOH}. I would have a waiting room where when people joined everyone else would see who they are and someone would have to let them in like welcoming them at the door. Anyone can answer the door but you can't get in unless someone answers the door.
Let's say I let you I and now you are in the main social room of the House of Hermskii {HOH} such as the HOH living room, you can see and talk to everyone in that room. You can also see who is in the {CG} room for instance. Those would be the people in game playing at the {CG} server right then. The same goes for MHM and the Chaos servers and the other servers in HOH. I think I could even have a channel for each of the servers I support as well like HOOK's or Helen's etc etc.
You can go from place to place talking to people. Everyone can see everyone but canonly talk to them or share files etc while they are in the same room. The clarity is awesome provided your mic is good. -=Hitman=- has been trying to turn me on to this for a while now and finally got me this last week. Now I and my son can be playing on the same server and talk to each other while we play and everyone else who is in that room in TeamSpeak can hear us and talk to us too. I think it let's you send private and or team PMs too. There is tons more it can do that I don't even know about yet. I'm learning fast.
I think I'll be doing just so my son doesn't have to keep running back and forth between his toy room where his computer is to my man cave where mine is (opposite sides of the house) to talk or see what server I'm on or where I'm hiding when I snipe. LOL.

Re: TeamSpeak
I have only experienced TS3. I would think it is the latest version so would be the best right? I did think it was odd that TS 2 was still offered. I have not researched The difference. I welcome someone to chime in with the differences. Thanks!

Re: TeamSpeak
We got some Ventrillo server set up for CMM and CLD also, but I have never used it.

Re: TeamSpeak
So there is Teamspeak and Ventrillo and Roger-Wilco is still out there too. I always just made a chat room in yahoo and let people connect there. It is not as dedicated or manageable but it worked.
I think TeamSpeak will be the final and best way to go if I do it.
