Every server...every day!

Post by Hermskii » Sat Mar 28, 2020 9:30 am

Every server...every day it looks like someone is on my HOH servers. What is odd, is I never see them. I check a few times a day and the servers are always empty but all of the map names have changed so somebody is doing something. It's probably the Russians. Welcome! LOL.

Maybe I helped?
I have posted this link in a few places over the past few years - even on discord...
https://hooksutplace.freeforums.net/page/hutp_servers

Hope it did some good to put it out there.

Have you tried saying something? You know the usual way you talk to anyone else playing... maybe they'd respond.

Think it's the "t" key.

They always seem to play when I'm not looking at the server. I do have to admit I saw a guy named "What" playing the other day and another, I forgot his name. I did not join because I was on work time hours. I certainly know how to chat in game. Especially when I get fragged. You can just hear me saying "Got it!"

Daaaaaaaaaang1 I checked in on the servers today and they were all down. To make a long story short, we had an idiot crash into a telephone pole or something like that in our area and it caused multiple short power outs this morning. They finally fixed everything around noon. My server suddenly started using DHCP instead of the static IP I assigned the firewall to pass through so nothing would work. Once I figured that out, my network complained the ip was in conflict with another device on the network but when I looked at the list of devices, the one my event log said it was, was not listed. It was a ghost PC of some sort. Uninstalled nic and tried again. Nope. Rebooted network...nope. Reassigned static IP and then shut down PC. Rebooted network and finally took the IP but still nothing. Looked back at the static ip settings again and the default gateway was blanked now. WTH? I set it up again and rebooted and everything came up. All of that took about 2 hours. Daaaaaaang! Now that I think about it, this happened before the power outs this morning because I noticed I could not remotely connect to the server a day or 2 ago. I noticed again today and shut it down. Then forgot to turn it back on. Then when I did, all that crap happened I mentioned above. I wonder how long my stuff had been down? Game Tracker listed them as down and not DEAD. How long does it take before GameTracker calls them DEAD where you have to re-register them? I hate having to do that crap!
