Another end of UT prediction.

Post by Hermskii » Sat May 19, 2012 1:56 pm

I was chatting with Hitman the other night on his Team Speak. He shares my goal of making sure that UT will always be able to be played and there will always be a place where people like us can go to discuss it. He has his great place and I have my great place and neither of us are worried that we will be around to the end. We do disagree on how fast the "end" of UT will come.

I think UT still has at least 5 more years and likely around 10 more actually. He thinks it will be pretty over by the time 1 more year rolls around.

I do have to admit that GameTracker always shows a little over 900 UT servers and recently it has gone down to just less than 850 and stay put. This happened just in the last few weeks. At that rate all the UT servers could be gone in 17 weeks being 17 x 50 = 850. If it happened at double that rate of time it would be 34 weeks which is still well less than a year. 3 x as long would be 51 weeks. Still less than a year! Hmmmmm? Hitman may be on to something! I'll stick to my guns though and say well over 5 years to go.

If i ever get a server up and running my UT will keep running until i either die or the internet crashes...
...there may also be some downtime for a bit if I should move.

Ummmmm....NO. That is why I stressed the comic book one. LOL. The movie one sucked but maybe he is doing better in this latest avengers movie. The THOR movie totally blew.

I am hating your forum today. It may be more the work computer's security but I just typed up a lengthy 4 paragraph blurb on why the Thor movie rocked... and then your forum said I wasn't logged in and it went away.

Argh!

Short form: The Thor in the movie started out like the actual Thor of myth is supposed to be, before showing how he became more noble like the comic version. Other than Hogun and some Marvel 616 vs Ultimate Marvel clashes, I had no problems with the Thor movie.

Pity, the longer thing i typed up really rocked!

This forum has some damn timer on it that does that. I have gotten to where I will copy anything I'm about to post so that just in case it doesn't take my post all is not lost. I have typed up some monsters before and lost them as you did. Now, it doesn't matter what forum I'm on, if I have a big post, I copy then hit the submit key. Sorry.

Do you have any collectible stuff EG? I have a few comics. Not very many but what I have is pretty fair. Spiderman #300 for instance! I some of the first Archie comics as well and Ghost Rider too! I also have a first edition "The Lone Ranger" by the Author "Striker" that is unlike any other one I have ever been able to research. It has a copyright date of 1936. I can't tell what it is worth yet.

I'vr got an excessive amounf comics, although i dunno about collectibles. The older comics, like from before i was born, were the pricier ones these days because they didn't have as much mass production back in the day. with computer driven copiers putting out comics the last few decades, the costly stuff is pretty much out the window.

But, yeah, I've got some good stuff.

I re-checked that copy of The Lone Ranger I have and actually found 2 copies exactly like mine. Mine was in better condition than both of them by a little bit. The most expensive one for sale was only $145. Bummer.

I am not. I'm actually not a big Lone Ranger fan or Johnny Depp fan either for that matter. I feel bad about not being more of a Lone Ranger fan. I think I'm just too young...

Now "The Rifleman"... that is a different story.

He was as tough as they could be in my opinion back then. I hated the way his kid always called him Pa all of the time. I understand it is another way to say dad but the kid should have been tougher in the show.

I grew up on old Westerns. I like to try to find modern ones to make up for the lack of the old.

Quigley Down Under, for example.
