deathmatch in a subway theme

Post by EvilGrins » Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:08 am

Part of the reason I've deleted so many maps over the years is because I used to have a much smaller harddrive. It was only 4GB.

I currently have something around 600GB and I'm looking to get them back.

I had a subway station map in DM. It had 4 separate trains, 3 stations, and 3 levels...or maybe just 2 levels. The subway cars moved when you got on them and they were pretty quick. There was also an additional area halfway down the tracks which was like a power room which had better weapons in it.

The stations were color coded, middle was red...I forget the other two.

Can't remember the name of it for the life of me.

This ring any bells?

I've been through all of Mapraider's DM section a few times. They don't have it.

Some of the older players would probably know, just give them time, I haven't been playing long, maybe 3 years or so.

Are there any kinds of maps you're looking for?

I know that map and had it but don't anymore nor do I recall its name. Sorry. I recall being blown away that the subways worked. I think they can run you over too.

Nah, I've got Dogtown.

This isn't a city map with a subway under it. This is just a subway station with 3 or 4 separate trains, all functioning as soon as someone gets on them, stetched out over long tracks with 3 different stations. Above it is still the subway. There's a snack lounge and some other random rooms.

It's not a highly detailed map, or a realistic looking one really. It uses Unreal (not ut99) textures for the most part.

There's actually few maps with working subway stations on them, though very few where you actually can get on the subway cars and ride them to different stations.

Found it!

Had to go through the archives of Nali City, skim files section of Planet Unreal, and finally I hit up UT Files:

http://www.ut-files.com/index.php?dir=M ... lmetro.zip

It's a subway station, or metro I suppose as that's the file name, using simplistic Unreal textures. There are 4 tracks with working (gotta call them it) subway cars. They only move when someone gets on them. They yellow station is on the extreme one side, the green station is on the opposite. There's a dark red station in the middle. There are other rooms along the tracks inbetween the stations. Each station has 2 levels and, by a possible flaw in the map design, there's technically a third level above if you can figure out how to get there.

Oh sure, NOW you remember :P

Part of a series, a bunch of maps that all start with DM-AF...may have to check the others now to see if I like them.

Oh yeah, now I know this map too.
We used to run it on our {CMM} server.
I have that version you posted and an older version of it also I believe.
I have several of those "AF" maps, with a few of them running on {CMM}. :P

There is also a map I have (running on CMM) that was recommended for play by SilentBob.

Yeah, when I went recently looking for this metro map, that was one of the first I found.
