A note about Nelsona

Post by Hermskii » Wed Jan 01, 2014 10:50 am

I have considered this section for Nelsona for a long time. Like many others ahead of him who earned sections of this forum over the years he too has done so. Nelsona digs and digs at code in UT and does his best to bring it out and in front of mappers and coders to make them aware that you can't just throw stuff together. Mapping and coding is a scientific-art if there is such a thing. He tries his best to alert mappers and coders that there are issue to be addressed before the beta gets released. He demands a higher quality and also shows people how it can be achieved.

His posts rarely bring me to laughter and are often tough to interpret but for the person looking in close enough and paying attention his posts are treasures. Each one often bring to the forefront an issue or explaining how to overcome it. He too is active everywhere in UT. His UT deeds and has earned the respect of the UT community. For these reasons I wanted to give him his own place where he can gather test and work through issues of his liking. Also I liked the idea of people being able to find him in one place and ask him questions if needed. Done! Here it is. Congrats to you Nelsona. Unlike everyone else who ever had a section here I didn't ask you about this first. I just did it. I hope you like it and will use it to your heart's content.
~Peace~

Thanks a lot for the moment. If bad things (OS-es troubles, expenses, different other real-life troubles) won't block me, I think we can discuss certain problems, tweaks, solutions in both directions: from me to anyone, from anyone to me. Cons and Pros, I guess all are welcomed to improve UT, to gain all original resources in purpose to forget a large amount bugs and to consider them history.

I think the topic "Need More Fixes" can be moved into here and/or other related A.I. or mapping hints not not be reposted, doubled, or maybe will continue where it curently is located.

This move is ok. Perhaps Monster Arena thread needs to be moved too (probably renamed). Some day I think that one will be my mapping subject because I did not see anything related to MA mapping (Questions, Triggering, Bot Support, etc). There are a limited number of maps and more than a half of them are a total waste of time.

That is done as well now and I hope EG is paying attention in the event he needs me to move certain topics he owns into his section of the forum for easy finding.

Let me know if you need anything else!

Ok, I'll check first a few topics. Probably I'll enhance a subject in a different way. I'll see.

Bump:
I gotta admit I need to setup some blog related to different facts, blog managed by myself as long as it seems that I cannot access Hook's forum and maybe I should talk somewhere about that + Info able to get into a G00gle search just for future notes.

It was saying that my IP is banned so I went to other IP but... it was not that necessary after all...

Oh, wait... I think I can do some MA maps having stuff to ruin those default HUD errors specific to MA so I must start working something because crawling in forums is not productive.

Edit: Well, I think I have to remove "ut-files" from BookMarks as well because... it looks like it was going down last time and now it totally missing... Aside looks like is not really a loss, last time I could see only RSS spam and nothing productive. So to speak, forums silenced related to UT doesn't worth to be held in Bookmarks.

Yes, glad UT-Files is back up.
That was quite a spell it was down though

It was returning a bunch of 500 a few days ago, and then... No Host.
Anyway, I got a free template and I'm toying with a very simple website which will be hosted at... G00gledriv3, looks like this might be somehow an option. It's a bit of editing but I'm not in a rush... There I'll put some of my toys and a few info related stuff.

For host-name I have figured issues at those free 24/7 services or simply G00gl3 was rejecting the deal with "cute" domains. No problem, they have shorten URL format in "https" secured format so I think this should be good, because such a web-page has a very complex name but that's not a problem after all.
