The Dr. is in!

I forgot that I also wanted to make a section for the Dr. here because he is constantly amazing me with his finds and advice to people for all things UT and otherwise. Dr.Flay is all over the internet and will smartly post stuff here about a site he already maintains elsewhere that you can also visit. Like Nelsona, I did not discuss this option with him but hopes that he takes it and runs with the idea of having a place or another place to post cool stuff! I want people to be able to find your stuff here at least when everything else is closed and gone.

Let me know if you have posts elsewhere here that you want moved into here. Enjoy and thank you so much for all that you bring to the show and everywhere else!

I just found today where HOOK has had a section at his forum for much of what I was hoping Dr.Flay would produce here. I sadly also just noticed there is a section for virtually every other thing you could imagine in UT over there thus making it impossible for me to add things to this forum that isn't already there. I want to be clear this is not an attempt to reduce traffic there or steal members. In fact the one difference I see here now is that I'm dedicating this section to this member because I've seen so many other places where he provides his stuff and I'm always impressed with his work and findings as mentioned above. While other people's opinions and suggestions are always welcome I was hoping to have this area be mainly just be cool finds and cool solutions to issues.

It has been there a long time already unlike this forum. My point is HOOK has been doing something like this all along but I'm focused now on just Dr.Flay's content being posted here for others to find and remark on unlike posting a forum about just the subject. I'm hoping you think of a way to divi-up your cool stuff and post it. Sort of like how POTS did it here:

As you know now, I changed my cell phone number to what was my home phone number and then dropped the home phone altogether. It was great catching up and plotting with you again. peace out!

Hmmm.
I'll have to have a bit of a think, or skim my personal site for inspiration.

As you point out, many of my UT posts are reactive, rather than proactive.
Probably a lot of that is because of the time it takes me to write, and the amount and variety of sites and scenes I am a member of.

Recently I have been testing free options for streaming your own games, since watching the guys at Global Unreal stream the regular iCTF league matches.
Also I had to find suitable ways of watching streams for XP users, as no flash-players use HW decoding in XP

This may be a good item for a post, though currently my upload speed limits the resolution and bitrate I can use.
I intend to do some captures to disk and upload them instead, as I will be able to use VBR encoding.
Here is an example of my live feed. 3 or 4 maps starting with me spectating a 1-on-1 with a player named Zathras and our own Captain Hook. Once Zathras left I came in to play.

It is scaled down from 1024x768, because it suffers too much frame-drop, but now it no longer flickers.

But then Zathras and Zathras are also easily mistaken for each-other.
It drives Zathras mad. He can't see what the problem is.
