Ask about wireless router

Post by Scify » Sun Mar 22, 2009 1:05 pm

Laptop use this router Wireless-A+B+G+N
I have router by Linksys - Wireless-G Broadband Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch
Model: WRT54G2 | SKU: 8741365
My sister have router by Linksys - Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router with 4-Port Switch Model: WRT160N | SKU: 8639967
Will same code by linksys work different G TO N?

It not password.

Code? The firmware or the setup configuration? In either case, no.

If she has her "wireless" Linksys set up correctly you will need her WEP or WPA key (depending on which one she is using) to join her "network". If she doesn't have it set up correctly, like most people, you'll simply need to check for available wireless networks and hers will be the one with the most signal strength since you're right there. Click connect and it'll send you an IP and you'll see "connected" and network name on your wireless icon.

You aren't kidding. I have any number of spots my laptop will connect to around my route. I can even see sharing folders on their boxes at some spots  . Oh well, it's not my credit card numbers.
