Last week I heard a new to me word used regarding hidden price increases: skimpflation.
This is something I first noticed nearly 20 years ago. We used to buy four packs of Hunts Pasta Sauce at Costco. I stopped doing that some time after 2004, because I noticed that the sauce was now quite watered down. I switched to a Canadian brand called Primo. Their stuff was fine until recently, (although I did notice about two years ago that their Basil and Romano Cheese variety suddenly stopped having real cheese in it, and was switched to a cheese flavour.) -Not a biggie, but in the last six months they've started adding water to their sauces as well, although at this point their product is not as diluted as Hunt's sauces have been for years.
I must admit that the way things have been going lately, that I'm no longer sure if I really do want them to "Just charge me more, dammit". I guess I'll just have to adapt, the same as everyone else these days.
And at least I live far away from all of the madness going on in Europe and the Middle East. (And over 25 miles from all of the demonstrations and counter demonstrations happening in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. -Two cities that are on either side of me.)
Just charge me more, dammit.

Re: Just charge me more, dammit.
Last shopping trip at the grocery store: $50.99 for just a few items!!
No wonder the local food banks cannot keep up with the demand!!
The profit margins on food are still low at 2%, so it isn't gouging on the store's part. And there' only so much any government can do....
Tough times ahead!

My guy won so pressure is on for me that he does a great job. I feel pretty good about it right now. Saw a fact I did not know and it was that the entire planet all had major inflation We were dealing with it better than the others I see. Must really suck to not be in the USA.
I want good for all people everywhere. I want the clean air and water and plenty of fish and birds and all of that stuff just like everybody else. I do think the USA keeps the world in balance so long as we are on top. If we get knocked out of the number one spot, I hate to think what will happen to everyone else. The older I get the softer I get on many things but I also harden about security and the rule of law. California has lost its damn mind sadly. Luckily, it will still go Red before Texas goes Blue.
More on this later. I hope and pray all of you do well in our near future. Especially EG and Nameless who seem to have to live in another world.

Want to start a new thread about it all so that we can all argue until we're all red or blue in the face?
Time will tell if it's the USA or the rest of the world that is presently living in a "cloud-cukoo-land", as the Germans would say.
