Why not just rely on Defender? I haven't dealt with a virus in many years. Back when I got my Malwarebytes full version, it was a lifetime license. I got 5 of them. They covered my mother in law's PC, my PC, my wife's PC, and each of my 2-son's PC's.

Let us know what you end up with. I'm shocked about the ones you mentioned that don't cover email anymore.

Thanks for the update David. Seems they got some of it wrong then.

It took a bit of poking around, but I found the page I was looking at.

IF you fellows have a subscription to Consumer Reports, or can access it at your local library or elsewhere, take a look and see for yourself what they say.
Perhaps with a grain of salt, I suppose:

What did it say? That link just takes me to a page where I can sign up for C.R. which I don't want to do.

Yes, you must either sign up, or try accessing CU at your local library. Ask if they have CU on their computers and how to access it. You pay for your public library, so you might as well use its resources if they're available.

I have a computer on the internet. I suspect I will never need to go to a library again.

The point of the library was that you might be able to access Consumers Union's website for FREE, if your public library has bought access to their website. Mine has, and I often stop in for a rest after walking all the way downtown to do my banking. Checking out what CU has to say about stuff is fun and educational. As the print edition of the annual auto issue often gets stolen, I like to read about new cars online.

I'm still trying to save up for a new car. Using CU's website has helped me confirm that my 1st choice still is a Subaru Forester. They love that car, as I have for years. :)
