Welp, it finally happened.... I made it to retirement. Been working for Uncle Sam since 1988 and last week I hung up my mailbag. It's weird to have free time, I'm still trying to get used to it.

Did a little bit of mod work for some random over on UT99 this week and I quite enjoyed it. Might do more in the future now that I have free time. Anyone still playing?

I finished Operation Na Pali 50 times last year, and about 1 & half times yesterday (I switched Renderers and checked how it put up)
I checked this experimental renderer yesterday for UT 436
That's a quarter of what I did that day, been reading through bulks of stuff and trying out bulks of stuff

EvilGrins leaving for good (his announcement is important...) this has in ways given me the curiosity to see what was that powered all the FUN... I can see why...

Yea, having all that time on your hands seems odd at first. But you'll get used to it. Shopping at the right time of day when everyone else is at work is sweet. The street traffic is way down too, and you can nip over to the stores and back again in no time.

Congrats and it has been a long time. I can't wait to see how you handle this new turn in life. I hope it settles in well for you. I don't think I planned well enough to ever retire but I also don't think I ever expected to retire since I work at home and love the two jobs I have. I suspect I will die working.

You going to travel any? Where are you active in UT these days? We haven't spoken in so long I forget what all was most important to you last but the first thing that always comes to mind when I hear from you is that story about that fox you adopted or did it adopt you? People, he had a real fox sort of like a pet for while! Health, that was the other thing. Many years ago, the peeps at Beyond Unreal Forum said some really bad stuff to you and I swore I'd never return there. I forgot about it and went there the other day. It seemed pretty dead except for Evil Grins postings all over everything. That boy gets around. LOL.

We do intend to travel. I lived pretty frugally, I was never a 'new truck and a boat' kind of guy. Been married 29 years and never had a credit card or took out a loan. Either bought it or did without. Made it tough sometimes but I got to retire early (57) without any debt or requirements for my nest eggs. Picked up a 24 foot Fleetwood RV last week and been prepping for a road trip. Probably start with eastern Oregon out in the desert and hopefully extend the trips as we work out the kinks of living on the road.

Nameless I'll tell you having free time is just...weird. It's now 5am and I'm up just because I can be. If I get tired later I'll just take a nap. Yeah man.....weird to get used to.
