I got my other 2gb of ram installed. In BIOS is sees all 4gb, but of course windows xp pro sp3 does not. It sees 3.25gb. I have been reading that this is normal. I am wondering if there is a way for windows to see and use all 4gb. I have been it looking it up and I read some stuff about a memory switch, but I have not seen anything like that on my computer/bios. Any ideas. Or should I be happy with what it shows?

Bummer about the memory. I got a score of 5,217 on 3DMARK2006. Strange you did better on the older one with a newer PC and I did better on the newer one with an older PC.

Well, this is nothing special or fancy but I bought a used dell computer from ebay and upgraded it. What I changed in it was the following, I replaced the 20 gig hard drive with a 160 gig sata hard drive, replace the 512 mb memory (if that) with 3gb, and I replaced the cdrom with a dvd rom/cdrw. I replaced the old 16" crt monitor with a 19" widescreen lcd. It has windows xp pro on it.

Not bad for a computer for an 8 and 5 yr old. This computer is better than my first or second computer.

Just having fun man. It's cool to be at the point in your life where you just don't care what people think.

I use the female santa skin just cause I like the colors. I get a lot of crap from players over it, asking if Im a girl and the occasional ""Expletive Deleted"" comment. I could care less.

It was just jealousy talking when I mentioned it. Mine's not nearly as pimp, it's just blue and square

Edit: My apologies for the expletive Herm. I was not aware that F then A then G was unacceptable. OOps!

ScottyD, there was no offense taken on my part. I actually forgot all about the mouse pad. It does look sorta funny being there, but who cares...I got a laugh out of your observation and so did my wife.

Looks like a Dell GX260 if my memory serves correctly. I enjoyed using those at work and they are easy to work on too.

OMG MEAT I totally remember those days....Loading DOS off a disk every time you ran. Trading floppies at school...man that was fun. I even remember my first 2600 baud modem.

Well I was getting tired of not being able to play the music I wanted without tracking down the CD to put in the player in my room. So, what I did, I bought a used laptop on eBay and then bought some good speakers and transfered all my music onto the laptop. The laptop will be used as a juke box, nothing else, nothing less.

I know, that is what MP3 players are for, but I am able to modify the laptop, such as replacing the hard drive for a larger one without great cost to. This is what I have to play/listen to music......

Here are some specs..

Here are the wonderful speaker system (the speakers cost more than the laptop) Logitech Z-2300 (THX certified)

Anyways, I should not brag/boast, because Karma likes to put me in my place. So, I am not bragging, just sharing. Need to find enjoyment in life somewhere, such as listening to some good music.

Thank you Herm and Hook.

It was funny, my wife calls this (juke box idea) my present to myself for Christmas, but yet when I came home from the store she had the system on and listening to her music. You can really hear the music even from the other side of the house as she was. I am pleasantly happy with the sound of the speaker system.

I just vegged out for an hour listening to music before I got ready for work today. Music can be calming. Calming of the beast, before I go to work. :D
