Well I hope I did not offend by reporting what I saw and experienced.

For all I know it has something to do with my install of UT as far as the very talkative bots are concerned. I would not be surprised. As I said, I get the same thing on DM-Aftermath on the Curious George's server. (And I am the one who found, tested, and recommended DM-Aftermath to Hermskii, a long time ago. )

As far as not being able to move on the map Deck 17r, I know for sure that the problem is at my end. I installed the new and improved and very large texture set that replaced the special texture set that came on the 2nd cd on the Game of the Year Edition. Since installing that, I find that once in a while on certain maps that I cannot move. One or two maps even crash my game. However the texture set is so amazing that I will not remove it, just because I have a difficulty now and then. ;) :D

I have the same problem every once and while, does not happen to often, but I too installed the 2nd cd from the GOTY edition.

Herm gave a link a year or two ago to a new set of textures that is even more awesome than the set on the GOTY 2nd cd. It was a large download, but once installed I was totally blown away. Some of the textures (especially some wood textures) are now so realistic in appearance that I get killed because I stopped to admire them.

It sort of makes me want to find that download.

Ok Herm, can you repost that link for David?

Oh and btw, I am sinking that it was about time I watched those videos. Classic Basil Fawlty, and I loved the Berlitz commercial.

Sadly, the links Meat gave us caused Firefox to crash nastily. Both of them. Ouch. :?

Not many, if any, can handle what the MEAT throws out...sorry.

It's probably related to the Adobe flash player update that I got just prior to coming online that had something to do with it. The crashes generated error reports that I allowed to be sent on to Mozilla. They'll sort it out. :D

My S3TC download had much to do with the attack this forum suffered for months so I had to remove it. I will restore the file and instructions for it shortly but I will remove it again shortly after. Keep on me about this David. You will be amazed! I have lots of family in and they all leave this afternoon.

I think I had it at one point, back in the sniping days. I remember a map based in a western town and remember the little details in the wood and other surfaces were better. But I have done uninstall and re-installls since then and I am sure I have a newer hard drive. I was looking into the file and I found the some texture files, they are called "UT Low End S3TC" and "High End S3TC" but I am unsure if these are the proper files so I will wait until somone I trust guides me to the correct file.

Please use caution with these files.
They are pretty "iffy" at best.
Gopo has pretty much denounced their use also, as has Iron Chef.
Gopo's explainations are pretty technical and the Chef just got fed up with them and all the incompatiblities with them.
Just too much trouble. :|
I have a write up about them and the file links also over at HUTP.
(Gopo warned against them right after I posted the links and I agree now)
I'll be back with the link...

I have a set of workable versions of these files. Yes, while they are great to look at, AFTER I had made a complete as possible list of them and included the most workable set of instructions ever made to successfully use them, the creator of the textures continued to modify files he had already released. I could not / would not keep up with his changes so I can no longer promise the S3TC textures will work.

No need to worry. I know that there has been/is some issues with the textures causing issues. Thanks though.
