I gotta hand to you gopo, you have damn good servers.

I just played 9 rounds of UT Invasion in DM-Oblivion...Wow, that was intense! :twisted:

There are too many olive branches in my way for me to be able to go forward quickly with setting up MHM right now. It is like a freaking Forrest in here or something.

BTW the server is live, I just have the beacon turned off to limit is showing in the public browser. The IP to join directly is 66.55.158.68:7777

Thank you Bio. The wave setup is pretty easy right now, but I am going to tweak on it some tomorrow to make it harder earlier, and probably add some sort of weapon reloading like UTJ does. You just run out of ammo too fast and all the weapon switching is a bit cumbersome.

Edit: OK I scripted a small mod to add way more ammo, some reloading on the fly, and a little drip of health as you play. This may seem like the game waves are too easy now, but consider this as laying the groundwork for making the waves MUCh harder :twisted:

Invasion is now set up quite hard. Im not sure if you can finish 16 rounds :twisted:

Whoever asked me to keep the story element in a notepad will be pleased to know I'm doing just that.

I'm almost almost proud of it, it's nothing great it seems to work.
It gets across the theme of a veteran group being thrown from one mission to another, and war is very useful for coming up with reasons for the match.

I will have to give you this: I found myself hoping we would win because I found myself engrossed in the story. The inter-level dialogue adds to it nicely. It feel like you are getting somewhere, not just gaining a wave.
I'm going to include it in the rewrite, if you are ok with that. In fact it may be really neat to add a very short cinematic to the beginning of the map. Maybe show a group of assorted players rushing down a hallway to a "staging teleporter" or something, as the voiceover sets the stage for the invasion.

For anyone who's interested, here's the first 9 missions, I'm planning on adding to it of course but it should show you the general theme.
It's a notepad document, obviously :P
It may seem a little brief, considering there's usually all-sorts happening during a match, but this is just recording a briefing and important notes.

I fixed the nali village map. It had nalibarkeepers throwing off the invasion count. I also added a map i whipped up called DM-EmptyRoom so you can play collect the cow with little interruption.

I added stats as a fun thing. It messes up end round map voting so just vote manually. You might see the Dane poking around to see why (its his mutator). Stats is enabled on all except deemer arena.
