Some of you have played already, but I'd like to let the rest of you guys know there is a temporary server running Herm's mod here:

66.55.158.68:7777

It's very much a testserver (only 10 slots) and it has some crap maps on it but you are welcome to play around some. Let me be brutally honest here and assure you that this is not meant to be a public hosted server for building up. It's just a tester so (within reason) I don't care what you do or say there. Want to sit and chat? Knock yourself out. If I get time, I'll even toss on the last version of the village map for you guys to play today (if you want). This is the server I use to test online mods so it will get passworded at times so I can run things and see how they go. There is no immediate plans though for anything so it's all yours at least today. I'll post up if there is something coming, though I think Thursday will be blocked off for another group to use it for admin training.

If you also want to chat live, there is a teamspeak associated with it here:
ts44.gameservers.com:8825
which is also a 10 slot TS server.

There is no nexgen on it but it does have val av.

EDIT:
the village map is on. It is {beta7} but don't get confused with {beta8} which is the crash map. I was working the village problems out but all you'll see in 8 is the disco. Vote the beta7 one, that's the one you want.
Here's the list for warp passwords:
Playernameone=one
Playernametwo=two
Playernamethree=three
Playernamefour=four
Playernamefive=five
Playernamesix=six
Playernameseven=seven
Playernameeight=eight

So just enter mutate one or mutate two etc to warp around. Lastly, the first person to grouse at me over BSP errors in the map gets a SWIFT boot in the keester :twisted:

I had a good time on the test server. Scify was there, Herm showed up (which was cool) and later Gopostal arrived on a different map. Thank you guys for a good time

I only saw Hermskii 1 time in the village map.
I got always bad luck.. I always miss him :?

I have found it is hard for me to play also because the second my kid sees me playing he's pulling me off the PC so he can play. I played with Hellfy for just a sec on MH-Village before my kid caught me and took over.

BTW, what is it with the cows that shoot up into the sky and get stuck at the top. I also stood on a book and cut it with the chain saw and it sent me flying. I love the training area too. I noticed it was called MH-Village FINAL. So that is it? Is it ready to be uploaded to MHM now?

The flying cows happens if you shoot them with a deemer or powerful weapon.
For some reason they fly :mrgreen:
And the book is a bug or something which is fun, we always use it to go up a cliff or other high platforms :)

Your kid has talent Herm, he knew the way in the maps Canyon and NaliVillage. :shock:

Being able to navigate MH-Canyon is not so much an achievement as a lack of complete and utter failure.

god herm your kid is a monster playing, i played with him and hell last night was it? IDK

ill be on the server mostly every night from 10 to 12 my time, and maybe to 1 ifmy dad passes out before he sees the time

Yeah, my 4 year old son has known the default MH maps by heart for about a year now. Hell, I think he knows all of the default UT maps by now. He shows me stuff at this point. The most amazing thing for me besides being able to see a strategy in his method is watching successfully translocate to get special weapons. That just blows my mind that he can actually grasp using depth perception to determine when to spawn while shooting it up on top of a pole for instance. The second part of that is that he understands the concept of teleportation. That just astounds me. He is actaully a very good player already and I'll differ to Matrix to confim that for you.

My boy's only shortfall still is that he does not pay attention to his health in game.

Everyone has had a "not paying attention to health SPLAT" moment.

I have yet to meet him and see what all the fuss is about :)

About the test server...
There is a change in the fourth column. It is goDeemer Arena dm now (for a bit). I am trying to sort the explosion decals out. They work fine offline but online they make too many copies. For now it is standard scorch marks, but the rest of the mod is fine.

In the nicest possible way the GoDeemer is useless :P

It has just enough splash damage to look viable(ish) whilst actually having very little effect.
Me and the team use them to paint smileyfaces on walls :D

OK B, as a percentage, how much more powerful should they be? Herm and I discussed this at length and this is what we came up with. The fact it sucks in real play is interesting and I'd like to improve on it.

i like the GoDeemer i think its fun, it encourages more hands on combat and less camping as the blast radius is much smaller, only thing i think needs a change is when you shoot it and another player shoots your missile, it then blows up in ur face and u get a suicide, if u could stop the destroyed missile from killing urself it would be near perfect imo.

Also dunno if its just me but in missile guidance mode the crosshair is not masked and has a ugly black square around it.

OK guys heres what I'm going to do on the testserver. It's gonna go passworded. I'll PM you guys the pass so share it among yourselves so everyone can get on. I'll also include the adminlogin.

All MHM can have access to the adminlogin to play around. Please respect other players though. If someone wants a serious game, give it to them. There is no need to constantly spawn r3 after r3 or "Expletive Deleted" around with other players. RESPECT each other. Remember the point of this server is for Herm to decide what he wants to do. If you go fighting over the whole damn thing he probably would be inclined to scrap the project.

DO NOT use *ANY* "set" commands on the server. If one of those is in the logs, I'll shut the whole thing down. I don't want to have to rebuild because someone was "trying something". Summon, ghost, fly and thats about it.

I hope we are pretty clear on this.
