The secondary MHM3 server

If no one is going to step up to take over the secondary MHM server, I'm going to have it shut down tonight. You guys have gotten a peek into what it takes to run a server so you have a pretty good idea of the time and effort involved. I've been asked to keep the server and let others pay for it, but I don't really want to do that. My efforts will fully be on HoF server admin and Survival now so my time will be at a premium. Dane and I have been putting in 18 hour shifts coding and preparing things so if I have not answered a message, that's why.

If you want it, set up an account on gameservers and I will submit a transfer ticket. All the server settings are saved so setup would be quick. If no one takes the server over I will download the entire thing and back it up to DVD in case someone decides to reopen at a later date.

Good luck guys. You are all welcome to post and play at the new Survival site and servers, as well as the HoF family servers. I hope to see you there.

Im confused i thought Reiyel and POTS wer maintaining MHM3

I've learnt how to add/remove maps both on the main server and the redirect, I've also made changes to the MapVote, but I have no idea how to build a brand new server from scratch. The MHM3 server is basically the old Gopo's Test Server tweaked a bit. Reiyel has offered to pay for it and I was supposed to help Rei managing the server, while Gopo had not to be involved anymore. It seems like things have happened during my absence and Gopo is no longer disposed to keep the server alive.

Rei it's up to you, I have no idea how to open a new account on GameServers and I don't have the money. Plus I don't know how to set up a new installation of UT and you have to consider that without redirection the server it's gonna be useless.

I agree, maintaining a server is a hard work, but all the changes made during the last 10 days have been made by myself. That's all I think.

A person has come forward and taken the server over. It is up to them to make any sort of announcement about the details.

The server will be shut down for now until the transfer is complete.

POTS: I learned a lot of stuff and all the last 10 days were me.

I'll take it.

I'll start an account on GameServers and rent a 10 or 11 slots server.

Just one thought: It´s gonna be the same but private. Yes, passworded. Unless for the next few days.

Sigh now i see whats happend, a repeat of history thats what. MHM3 has been booted out of the blue AGAIN for Survival server.

The taker was not Reiyel for the testserver. The taker wants to remain anonymous for now and I will respect that. I'd expect an announcement forthcoming though, so don't worry. Server transfer will happen tomorrow and then its up to them as to what they will do.

I'm sorry to sound so non-specific but I have been asked for privacy on this and I will honor that. If I may impart advice on this, I'd let it drop for now and just move on until something changes. If this person desires to post a public server, they will surely announce it here.

And no Supreme, the offer was clearly made to let *anyone* take the server over. I'm not shutting anything down. I do not wish to carry the server on my account any longer and you were free to take it too. It's not my fault you took a pass on stepping up.

Yes, but of course the new taker won´t keep MHM3.

What I´m saying is that I´ll rent a new server and start MHM3. Gopo has kept the server settings so it´s not a big deal.
