Does anyone here also like football?? Well, tomorrow, the world's most important football competition starts and we have 2 matches:

+ South Africa vs Mexico
+ Uruguay vs France

Any favorites? Which team are you going to support?? Wanna bet?

I say South Africa - Mexico is a draw and that Uruguay beats France!!!

Italy will be probably eliminated at the first turn cause it has a crap team this year and the Italian and European champion (Inter Milan Football Club) is all made up of foreigners (even the coach was Portuguese) thus they couldn't help us with the World Cup. Pff what a joke.

I just hope one between England and Argentina may win the cup in the end.

P.S. I say both matches will end as draws.

Well...........uh.................hmmm...........How can I put this........wish your team the best???? I don't follow football (soccer to us yanks), football (American), or really any sports unless I am playing in it. Sure I might catch a part of a game, but I dislike being a spectator, I'd rather be playing. I did, when I was in high school, have a friend from Africa and I helped trained and practiced with him to have him make the High School soccer team and he made it. The soccer coached even asked me to be on the team, but I was a baseball, Basketball, and football player, so I thanked him but I went to my friend's games to watch and support him.

Anyways back to the question... USA is still in it right? But I understand that they do not have the experience or quality players as do the European teams..so... I hope that the World Cup will be an eventful, fun event for those who watch it. Good Luck.

USA has evolved a lot in soccer. Tomorrow there will be a very interesting match to watch: England vs USA.

Italy will be probably eliminated at the first turn cause it has a crap team this year and the Italian and European champion (Inter Milan Football Club) is all made up of foreigners (even the coach was Portuguese) thus they couldn't help us with the World Cup.

Even if Italy has been having trouble, I think they will do well on this World Cup. After all, they're the current champions. About Inter Milan well yes, its full with foreigners except Marco Materazzi, who isn't exactly what you would call an skilled player
Besides, POTS hates Inter Milan since he's an AC Milan fan, but Inter won the Champions League while AC Milan was utterly destroyed by Man Utd

As I did since I was born, I'll support Argentina. I should though support Brazil since I'm related to that country but I'm just tired of they winning all the time, and well, Peru just does not exist in the football scene

Soccer is quickly getting big in the USA. I thought as a kid it would have over taken everything by now but I think it still has another 20 -30 years before it takes over. I was a state ranking soccer player and was invited to and made the team for a professional team here in Houston a long time ago but then they found out I was too young.

USA is still in it and I'd like to see them do well naturally. There is a problem here in the usa for soccer though that is likely a main reason it has not been growing even faster on TV and such and that is because there is no time for advertising. You have before the game, half time and after the game. That is it. Soccer has no time outs or anything and no quarters or 2 minute warnings. Nothing. It is hard for them to make money here off a game like this.

Granted I'm aware of the team aspect and the strategy involved but for most I see it could be
a slow and semi boring game. I think we as a society are more accustom to faster
paced games and more scoring...much like unskilled aggressive UT players.

Anyway, I could not watch more then a few minutes of a game or two. Sorry, it is not my cup of tea. I watched some hightlights though on the sports report...

Yeah, it was boring to watch. I did watch it all. I like soccer though. I felt the ref should have handed out more red cards. That would have made for a very exciting game and certainly more one sided. Congrats Spain.
