yAY! i THINK i KNOW THIS ONE. sO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS RIGHT NOW WHEN YOU LAUNCH YOUR ut SHORTCUT, THE GAME LAUNCGES IN WINDOWED MODE AND WHAT YOU WANT IT TO DO IS OPEN IN FULL SCREEN MODE. cORRECT? DAMN that CAPS LOCK button.

It launches in full-screen mode but then goes back to the desktop. When I click on the UT active icon on the taskbar after being reverted back to the desktop, the game is still full screen and running correctly.

What video driver are you using? I recall a OpenGL driver doing this before.

Thank you Herm!! I do have OpenGL. I tried switching it back to my video card, but it is too dark: even with adjusting brightness. I tried some other drivers but then went back to OpenGL and now it works like it should and it is light enough. So switching between the drivers corrected something. It starts like it should without switching windows.

Concerning the video card and the OpenGL issues (darkness) I know I posted about it before where it was too dark on mt video card but when I use OpenGL it corrects it. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3967&hilit=video

When I was switching the video settings, and tried restarting UT had an error "You'll need a new app to open this ms-gamingoverlay link". This was a new error I have not seen before. I did some looking into it and I believe it was connected to the Xbox gaming bar (note: I never downloaded it but I am sure it came in a Windows Update). So I tried uninstalling the Xbox gaming bar but still had the issues. I went into the Xbox gaming bar settings (yes the settings were still present after I uninstalled it) and turned off the Xbox gaming bar. Once I turned off the Xbox gaming bar, I was able to test the different drivers and select the best one.
