I don't know who owns which one but I'd say I'd prefer the yellow one because it looks mostly stock and that is what I prefer. The blue / black one looks like it belongs to more of the cycling enthusiast since based on looks it has been majorly modified since it was purchased. I'd give either of your left nuts to own either one.

Congrats! They both seem awesome in their own way. Now tell me which color handled the corners best and which was better in the straight-a-ways.
~Peace~

Mine = Yellow one
Custom Exhaust, smaller rear sprocket, "renewed" engine *including a supposedly indestructible Tank Piston, piston rings etc.
Mine will go faster on the straights since it can hit up to about 115mph

SuP= Black/Blue one
He will have to give the specs on his customisations
His will do better in the corners, due to my lack of knowledge in the place he lived and not knowing where the hell i was going xD He also has a bit larger turning circle on his steering.

Yep mine is the black one, ive not really done much to it apart from respray it and and change some minor cosmetics like red wheel rings, but the bike is modded with a big sports exhaust, higher end carb, higher performance tires.

Top end it will do about 85mph, no match for EA's due to the fact his is 2 stroke and mine is 4 stroke, but on the challenging country roads i'd much rather be on mine and its much more down to the rider :mrgreen:

Ok the one bike is a Cagiva. I'm pretty sure that brand is unavailable here in Canada. What brand is the other one? Please list the make and model of your rides guys, so that I can look them up on the internet. The name and brand of any after market items would be good too. Details please!

Example:

My ride:
1985 Harley Davidson FXRSL c/w optional "handling package" which gives taller shocks front and back, and an extra brake disc up front. (Basically an '85 FXRT touring bike without the saddlebags and front fairing.)

Stock engine, transmission, and sprockets. 80 cubic inch motor (1340 cc), 5 speed, chain primary and belt final drive.

Engine breathes through S&S Super butterfly carburetor, and H.D. Screamin' Eagle "baloney cut" mufflers.
Screamin' Eagle coil and wire set. Stock style spark plugs or Split Fires depending on my whims.
Metzler 880 touring tires. (I only buy Metzler's, because all they make is motorcycle tires)

Photo of bike available in another thread in here someplace, if the link still works. ;)

(Photo of my current dream bike available in my "Dammit I want one!" thread. :mrgreen: )

Well nameless our bikes arent exactly as glamorous as your harley lol, with our 125cc engines, but they are italian so thats a plus :wink:

Mine is a Gilera which is the sports division of Piaggio, the DNA is a rare combo of a sports bike shape and frame but with a automatic 4 stroke belt driven piaggio engine. So it has the ease of a scooter but ride position and handling of a nifty little sports bike that dominates through busy traffic. They are getting quite rare now as they stopped making the 125 model in 2003.

EA's is a Cagiva, which is a division of Ducati, like a more budget smaller engine sized Ducati. The Mito is rather race inspired with its looks suspension and steering dampener.
Its most probly the fastest 125cc production bike along side the Aprilia RS125.

That better? :mrgreen:

85MPH? 115MPH? That's it? C'mon man!!! Even my old interceptor broke 140MPH. My last one was even faster! it handled like a dream too do to that much smaller front wheel. Your bikes look better though! By the way, I recently found a pic of me lighting up my back tire about 20 - 24 years ago. I will get a good jpg and post it if I rememebr to. It is one of my favorites ever!

Yes but an old interceptor had a 600-700cc engine, which put out about 60-65 hp, mine only pushes up to about 40 hp ;) besides 115 mph from a 125 vs 140 from a 600 is not bad going ;)

Well 115 mph will leave me behind as well. :lol:

As I said, my bike is bone stock engine and drive train wise. And as such, it will not do the ton. Ever.

About 15 years ago I was riding along a local motorway called simply highway 401. At that time they went too far in their cut backs, and the provincial police had become virtually non existent, especially on that stretch of highway. So there I was riding along at the speed limit of 100 kph (60 mph), and getting passed by all these guys zooming past me in their BMW's and Mercedes Benz sports cars doing at least 200 kph (125 mph), or more likely by my guess at the time, 245 kph (150 mph).

I had already figured out by rpm vs speed in top gear that my bike wouldn't do the ton, but I decided then and there that since it would be the jerkwads in their sports cars that had already passed me that would be pulled over if anyone was, that I was going to see just how fast I could go. Redline is at 5200 rpm on an evolution engine like mine, with the owner's manual stressing that one should never do more than 5400 rpm under any circumstances. So I took my bike up to 4500 rpm and found that I was doing 145 kph (90 mph). With only 700 rpm left, and power falling off already, I knew I'd get to maybe 95 mph tops. I've matched that speed of 90 mph a few times since that day, but never felt the need to go faster. All I'd get for my efforts was an overworked engine and gobs of vibration finding its way through the rubber engine mounting system. :|
