Champagne tastes.....

Post by a nameless entity » Fri Jul 08, 2011 11:05 am

Champagne tastes...... tap water budget.

I'm still charmed by the beauty of this machine.

And fascinated by the possibilities of this engine in a custom sport cruiser design bike.

Yes supposedly the expression above ends with "beer budget" tastes, but I'm in a reality based frame of mind at the moment. So tap water it is. :(

I suppose there's nothing for it but to commit the sin of gambling, and buy one ticket each on the two lottos that have larger than normal jackpots for tomorrow night's draws. ;)

What? I'm the only one that likes old Indians, and thinks that the S&S "X-Wedge" engine is one wicked mill? Ah well, so be it. :|

Some jerk won my 41kkk last week, but the other lotto that only costs a buck for 2 sets of numbers still hasn't been won. So I'll buy another ticket. And 600k is 600k is 600k. Of course I've jinxed myself by mentioning that I'm buying a ticket, but I wouldn't have won anyway. ;)

Hey, I love just about any old machine.
We used to do Show Street Machines - cars.
And we got some 1st place and some lower trophies too for them.
One of our cars was even invited to a CNN Showdown (Shootout?) drag race event that was televised.
We were re-doing the engine at the time, so kicked ourselves for bad timing and not being able to make the event. :|
Even Chrysler called up my ex son-in-law to find out information about what we did to the head of the little slant six engine in his Duster to make all that horse power.
(Was 110, stock - did head work - now 357 hp - added 247 hp mainly with head work)
It was quite a sensation. :P

Oh wow, the Duster with the slant six engine was the first car that I wanted to buy. My parents had had two Dodges with that motor in them, and the engines were bullet proof. In fact the body on the '69 Dodge was falling off of the frame when my parents got rid of the car. But the engine with way over 100,000 miles on it was still fine.
Too bad "Consumer Reports" scared me off buying the Duster. The price also kept going up and putting it just out of reach every year when I was young. A friend of mine bought one though, and abused it terribly (he put the pedal to the metal one night before break-in was finished) and it didn't care. Just kept going and going. :D

But that is absolutely incredible that you got another 247 ponies just with head work! Amazing. What all did you do besides a port 'n polish? :o
