Re: My heart is racing...
Thanks! I did enjoy that.
Bicycles sure have come a long way since my friends and I used to try a little stunting with our coaster braked standard bikes over 45 years ago.
I also watched the video of the guy doing that ramp jump on a skidoo. 361' !! Wow!

You remember this one?
Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

Re: My heart is racing...
Thank you KiLLaKeLLeR. Since Herm brought up the biking, I just thought that I would throw an old (and now compared to todays biking a VERY Cheesey) biking movie.KiLLaKeLLeR wrote:Funny stuff david
I remember when the single back flip, as shown in the movie was the biggest trick.
And for the Ladies out there, who says biking is just for boys. As shown here, biking can be for both, boys and girls
P.S. Man I can not believe I watched this movie when I was a kid. Just makes me want to hide my face...

I'm sore just watching that! Amazing footage. I wish he had held his head up higher so it would be easier to see where he was going. That was just cool as can be. Thanks for the find David. That guy was hauling butt!

When I was younger I would have done some of this, but without the twists and flips. NOW.... I know my body would not even try to do any of this.

That was fun to watch David! I was especially glad not to see the failures. I hate seeing people fail at anything but especially when they hurt themselves doing it. I was also going to bump this topic anyways because That bike guy Helen posted still rules so much!

Freaking Awesome Terraniux! That is so me! I'd love to do that! No hills in Houston. That is why everyone likes Austin! LOL.

Re: My heart is racing...
Wow is all I can say. Those kids in David's video would appear to have played too much Nintendo when they were growing up. They took some crazy chances. I hope all that crashing and banging around they did with their bodies does not come back to haunt them later in life!
And those tricycles in Terraniux's video were just awesome. I used to fantasize about riding my bicycle down some really long mountain road like that when I was young. I used to wonder if I'd have the courage to NOT use the brakes on the steep parts on the way down, and just coast through the whole ride.
I went to maddogcycles.com and had a look around. I looked at the products and read a couple of reviews on the early stuff. They confirmed what I was noticing in the video. The rear axle is a bit narrow on those early model trikes, and the rear wheels lack traction. But I did notice how skilled riders where often able to use that lack as an advantage in spots during the ride. There are some issues due to the trikes being made in China. However the sellers are working to rectify the factory's shortcomings.

2011 model 2 reviews: http://maddogcycles.com/product/big-dri ... tm#reviews
2012 model: http://maddogcycles.com/product/big-dri ... -5876.html
2012 reviews: http://maddogcycles.com/product/big-dri ... -5876.html
I'd still like to give this sport a try, but to be honest I'd rather have a made in USA unit that has all of the kinks worked out.
NOTE: The maddog website got tired, and I couldn't check my links. If they don't work just go to the home page and try from there. Be sure to read the reviews. These guys are honest, and are addressing the quality issues. They also offer some nice upgrades, which will be fine until they find a place in the USA to make these trikes for them.
I should start a "bucket list", and put this activity on it.

Re: My heart is racing...
Didn't I originally make that post in December? How did the date on my post get changed to yesterday?
(Herm bumped the thread up to the top, but why did that change the date on the post?)

I was wondering the same. I saw the date and I knew I read it before but it did not know why it had the newer date.a nameless entity wrote:Didn't I originally make that post in December? How did the date on my post get changed to yesterday?

Yes, I bumped it. I did not know a bump would alter dates.
