Well, during WW2 certainly but this isn't Steve Rogers.

To spare you an endless amount of Marvel history catchup, during a period where Cap was believed dead, cuz he was, his 1st partner who happened to be alive, Bucky Barnes, took over as Captain America.

Oh boy!

Superman died fighting Doomsday, a product of Kryptonian genetic engineering. He was brought back to life but in the interum other Supermen rose up to fill the gap he left.

Robin 1 was "Expletive Deleted" Grayson, who is still very much alive as Nightwing.
Robin 2 was Jason Todd, who was killed but awoke in his coffin after a cosmic event and is now the current Red Hood.
Robin 3 was Tim Drake. He didn't die but now goes by Red Robin.
Robin 3.5, Tim Drake briefly abandoned the identity for a bit, was Stephanie Brown, who did die but was brought back later somehow or other and resumed her old role as the Spoiler.
