My wife and I see quite a few movies - about 2 to 3 (+ or -) per month at the Theater.
I have never gone to a 3D movie for many years.
I pictured them with using those cardboard red and blue 3d glasses, UGH!
Never was a real fan of 3d ... until last night.
We went and saw OZ, the great and powerful. (in 3D)
The glasses they gave us were not those old red and blue lensed thingamabobbers.
They were clear, but slightly smoked.
The movie literally popped right out or off the screen.
We saw things going right by our heads - NO lie!
Was not only a really good movie, but also a real treat in very realistic 3D action indeed!

Re: Good Movies - 3D ...
Yeah, the new 3D are very cool. I remember the ol' blue & red lenses in cardboard, which were a double whammy as they didn't work so well oer my glasses.
Up until a few years ago I avoided 3D like the plague. The last one I saw in theaters prior was Jaws-3D...
...and then I saw Avatar.
Wow!
Not all the 3D films are necessary. Some of them it's being added to parts of films but not the entire thing. Tron Legacy had 3D tossed in at the last minute, you barely even see any of it. Great film other than that.
I specially love the new lenses as the frames fit perfectly over my glasses.
