I have fraps and the question is.
How do you do a ut99 movie with this?
Do I need to be in a game online or not?
And any other info would be good and the other question is, has anyone used this program?

I have no idea. I have never recorded anything in UT except for names, emails, text messages, conversations and ip addresses.

I used fraps to try and make a rcording of my game but as far as I see it don't work very well
because I only get a few seconds frames lol
anybody have any isea.

Do you have the free Fraps version or the sub-based one?

The free to use Fraps version only records for a few seconds - it's basically a trial version so to speak.

Also, the filesize for the recordings is massive. I wouldn't recommend using it for anything longer than one minute. (I think even a one minute video already takes up to 1 GB of disk space.)

I think you should keep searching for a recorder that converts the videos to a different format. If it saves your videos as .avi, .mp3, or .wma, your hard disk is going to have a bad time. (Unless you have at least 500 GB to toy with)

On that note, if you have an Nvidia gfx card you could download Shadowplay, a recording tool similar to Fraps. It does save the recordings as .avi, so you're gonna need a huge hdd, but it has a handy feature that prevents you from wasting space with dull nothing-is-going-on-gameplay. Basically it'll record, but not save. Then you can press a hotkey like F12, and it'll save the last 1 minute of gameplay. I used this while playing Skyrim, worked like a charm. ^^

If you have Vista or above I can recommend "Open Broadcaster".

There are no limitations as there is no paid-for version.
It uses the HW functionality of the MP4 CoDec in modern GFX cards, so all your CPU is free for the game.
Fraps and similar, only leave you with 50% CPU.

Another way you can capture your games, is to make sure you use the UT Demo recorder first.
This enables you to replay the game over and over from any player or camera position.
You can then experiment with different software without loosing the game.
