Time for some work/Calling all mappers

ok ,
I put the map on the server , then erased all my logs.
Then turned on the server.
After it booted i booted my UTplayer install up and joined the server.
I voted for the test map you crated and on it came.
I picked up weapons touched the triger and killed every queen.
Each time i killed one i let it get closer to me and i let it shoot at me , or i ran towards it. btw you have them set to only attack you if shot at. I walked right up to a queen and it stood there doing nothing.
Any way .
I ran the map 2 times.
1rst time it gave me the disonect icon on the right side right after i killed all the queens. When i ran to the exit box it kicked me and crashed the server.
2ond run i made it to the end box but it did not end the game. Did you put a monster end in there? without one errors might occur.
back on topic. - i ran around for a few seconds then got the disconect warning again and then i was kicked and it crashed again.

I checked for logs though and none show the map i was playing or any errors? So i think i have a problem with my logging. I will need help to produce a log.

I don't think we should let this topic die so quickly.
This is majorly intriguing to me.
If this is truly a rule we need to be watching for we need to write this into the UnrealWiki for everyone. Must also add it into the Monster Hunt mapping guide for certain.

I opened up your map in ED and couln't find any problem with it.
All we need to do is find what safe distance stops causing errors.

I am thinking that error only happens in MH and/or with those monsters.
I have set the vision radius very high in a few of my maps without any problems.
At least IF I am talking about the same thing as you are. :?

Gopostal switched out the monsters a couple of times and continuously the vision distance caused errors leading to a crash.
I believe this to just be a limitation of an old game engine. There might be nothing we can do but obey the law it creates.

Apparently it doesn't affect bots, as i adjusted their site with a sniper point way out in my map CTF-LuXoR with no problems.
Several thousand units.
Maybe it is just with the monsters or the mod?
Maybe there is a way to get around this and try using sniper points or ambush or patrol points?
Just some thoughts. :wink:
