How To: Hide Your Crosshair

Post by *POTS* » Thu Sep 29, 2011 5:53 am

This might be a silly question, yet I've been unable to find an answer so far.

If you just shrink your HUD to the minimum everything will disappear but the crosshair. Tried with some commands I've found on the Web like "togglescreenshotmode" and "ShowHUD" but they don't seem to work with UT99. :|

I've been looking in the INI files and I've not found an option for disabling/hiding the crosshair. Any ideas? :?

Theoretically, as i know you can download more crosshairs if you wish, I would put to you it might be easier to design an invisible/transparant crosshair (or just make one that's an itty bitty teeny weeny tiny dot) and select that.

Yes very easy- Go to your Hud customization tab and move your red yellow and blue sliders all the way to the left, Bingo Bongo Hidden my friend. I use this to practice aim with sometimes. :)

Works fine, thanks Keller!
Now I wonder if there's a way of keybinding that...

This would be good for our Laser Sight - to clear out the normal cross-hair if you wish.
Or, make it less visible would maybe be the better reason.
Thanks peeps!

set Botpack.ChallengeHUD CrosshairColor (R=0,G=0,B=0,A=0)

Don't make me start really challenging you POTS! That was easy and you know it. Are you getting really sick (Good) modding yet or not? It may be time to get after it!

Modding? Don't tease me... :P
Anyway I was busy trying to find a work-around for those annoying B&B (big and blurry) crosshairs related to UT99 and widescreens...

I ended up with a custom set of crosshairs I made that at least makes thing a bit easier for widescreen users, since they all rely on a super uber small dot (way smaller than the stock UT one).
