I have to give props to CROSSBONES MISSILE MADDNESS for offering "non bot maps".
Rightly named "No Bots Expert Maps".
It really show who the better player is.
Spawn killing bots is was sissies.
Now all Hooks needs to do is offer spawn protection and then he might have a decent server.

Thanks for the "props" MEAT - yes CMM's 4th column in MapVote is the NO Bot column - and more good maps will be showing up there as time goes by.
Sometimes it is just more fun with real players ONLY!
Sometimes you want to play without the annoying bots blasting away at you when you are trying to Hide-N-glide.
Sooo, I thought I would give the players the Option of playing with Bots or No bots!
- but I still am not going to offer spawn protection.
I just do not see a need for it at all.
I cannot recall even seeing the Loop-O-Poop ever happening at CMM.
Just not enough players maybe?
Maps are much larger than they used to be?
Most players don't even try it!
If it ever becomes a real problem and players complain, then Maybe I'll add Spawn Protection - BUT - Only for a second or 2!
Most of the time you can get out of the loop pretty fast anyway.

But isn't that the sole purpose of going online...to play against real players?

Poke well poked and well taken but no. No spawn protection ever again on CG. Yes, I said again. Why because I've already been there and done that as I have almost already done every single thing you can think of on CG. Back then the masses demanded no spawn protection. Now maybe they prefer it. Maybe their little feelings get hurt when they die and never had a chance such as in the loop of poop but everyone does have a chance. In fact they all have the same chance to not be in the loop of poop. And yet certain players seem to always win??? Sounds like they have a special technique or something to be able to achieve this. When some people can do some things better than everyone else who has the same chance to do the same thing but can't, they are often described as lucky or skilled. I like to go with skilled.

MEAT, Yes and No.
Yes, I support the use of bots for obvious reasons - practice and something to do while waiting for real players to show up on a server.
No, you are correct, I go online to play REAL players! (period)

Another look at bots...
When playing a TEAM game like TDM or AS, you can order bots to do some tactical functions.
You can tell some of them to guard a certain spot, then tell some of them to follow you around and help you.
It is pretty interesting and fun when you organize your team of bots to function well against another real player and his team of bots.
Or, even 2 or 3 real players along with their team of bots on each side.
I have a post with a mini article about this somewhere, but I am sure you can get the idea.
Create 2 teams in a map like DM-WitkasWadi and try it out ordering the bots to do things - FUN!
Especially against another real player or 2 with their bot team.

No there is only one MRS...but we do need more players like MEAT.

I saw MEAT and Klownz playing tonight on one of their servers. MEAT had just won the game by about 10 frags. I bet you two enjoy playing against each other more than anybody else huh? I bet it was a great time! I should have joined and I will next time.

With you two getting better and better all of the time playing against each other I will surely have a rough night when I do join in. I'm sure it will be fun though. Looking forward to it! No bots too right? Good!
