If you live here in America, get informed about your government and what they are doing and why! This country seems to be going the wrong way fast and I have a really bad feeling our future if people don't grow up fast and start being responsible.
My political views are usually very strictly Diehard Fiscal Conservative Republican which is very Tea Partyish. I don't make much money but I'm very sick of paying for everyone else who isn't getting it. I look at it like that. You are either getting it or getting it done. I've been getting it done my whole life. I'm sick of seeing aliens getting free healthcare, I'm sick of seeing people with better shoes and cars than me paying for food with government food cards etc. I'm sick of being stuck behind buses at green lights while people get on and off who couldn't possibly have jobs. Lots more on this soon. I have to go right now.

I think these things are on all of our minds.
For me the bigger curiosity is, why? Why does it appear that our government and the powers which control it seem to be hell bend on self-destruction?
If someone were to write a handbook on how to collapse a nation it would outline the exact actions taken to date!
The people of real power behind our government, that is to say the Central Banking System/Rothschild family, etc, are perhaps insane, but they aren't stupid, so why are they doing everything possible to collapse our economy and destroy the nation?
It's almost as if they know something we don't right?
For example, if you were high in government and were privy to information which stated that our planet was doomed with no possibility of salvation, what would you do?
You couldn't announce that bit of news to the world because the only result would be anarchy and chaos world-wide which would plunge us right back into the dark ages.
What you would do is anything within your power to provide for your loved ones the best life possible. You'd live as extravagantly as you possibly could and have as much fun as you possibly could in the time you have.
This is exactly how people in power are acting right now. Reckless abandon.
People would be well off to learn to look at governments from a big picture point of view rather than the localized view most take into account.
A good way to understand how things really work is to place yourself in the following scenario.
You are the leader of the free world. All your advisers, top scientists, etc, have clued you in to the fact that the world can't sustain current population growth and that in less that two generations from now world-wide starvation will be the norm. What should we do Mr. President?
China's attempt at resolving the population issue has failed miserable as hundreds of infant girls are found floating in the Yang Zi river every year simply because the gov. allows one child per and the families want that one child to be a male.
What you do Mr. President is you create and prolong conflict/war, you allow disease which has cures to continue killing, you introduce immune destructive compounds into inoculations, you respond slowly to natural disasters so that the death toll can climb a bit, etc,etc. And are you wrong morally or otherwise for allowing these things?
After all, you're the leader of the free world and you have to do something. Considering your choices, well, you don't have choices other than those just mentioned do you?
From the local point of view these things appear to be horrific actions. From the bigger picture point of view these same things appear to be the lesser of evils and the only logical choices.
Common folk believe that they understand how our government operates, but they really don't. The only way to really understand the true workings of the powers that be is to have been a part of it at some point in your experience and that's the truth.
The hole is so much deeper and darker than even the best imagination can conjure and I promise that too is absolutely true.
The issue of illegal immigration has the same problems of local and non-local points of view. Locally we see the immigration issue as one that takes food from our mouths, raises out taxes, etc.
The big picture point of view understands that we need these people lol.
Illegal immigration, especially from Mexico is nothing new and illegal immigrants have been doing our stoop labor for many generations.
I dare say that the US wouldn't even have a viable agriculture segment if not for it's history of illegal immigrants.
If you want to look at the same issue from an even larger perspective one can play with pre-existing population models that show the fact that all civilizations begin to decline once the birth rate falls below a certain norm.
America is on the edge of that certain norm and it's only the fact that we calculate illegal immigrants into our current figures that we're keeping our heads above water.
In short, if American wants to avoid evolving into a Muslim populous we need to start having kids again and the powers to be are aware of this.
I'll be hung for saying this, but from a small local point of view our government is corrupt and insane. From the big picture point of view our government is taking the only choices available to it in an attempt to preserve itself.
It will of course fail because democracy clearly has a life expectancy. It has a life expectancy because democracy is based on free enterprise.
Based on free enterprise, what happens is that the small Ma & Pop shoe store eventually becomes a giant corporation and in time these giant corporations actually wield more monetary power than the government itself and you end up with "big business" actually in control, ie, the pharmaceutical powers.
There are only three things that can save us. One, the planet will eventually puke itself inside out geologically and we'll be forced to start over. Two, some Messiah can show up to save us. Three, some ET's can come show us how it's done lol.
Try to look at it this way- even if everything was perfect, our best case scenario is that our sun will eventually go boof and that will wipe out our solar system including all life.
If we don't get off this rock, humankind is doomed anyway.

The corrupt elite will continue to lie and manipulate the people to continue getting their way through the ages. Comes down to consumerism we are like manufactured products, as we grow up we are constantly told wat is good wat is bad and that we need all these nice things to keep us happy. We are all slowly programmed to be very materialistic and greedy making us chase things in life that simply are not important in logical terms. Most of this is done subliminally through advertising with very clever use of images and words.
TV, Music, etc is all used as a tool of distraction, so we dont mainly focus on truly important matters.
The US Government perticular seem to go with the "Dont worry we handle the important stuff"
I researched into the reptillian brain and found out that human brains still contain an amount of prehistoric brain in that of reptiles. This being the part of the brain that acts without real logical thinking. My guess is that world leaders are simply stuck in this reptillian mind state, and tap into the peoples reptillian brains?

As for exposing corruption all u need to do is research into 9/11 and u will find solid evidence that cannot be denied.
As immigration goes the UK is suffering harshly we are getting tons of eastern europeans coming here just for the cheap labour, which means jobs are at an all time low, housing is extortion, and all out crappyness really.
I personally cant stand the way the world is run at the moment, it seriously angers me. All it takes for it all to change is for people to pull their heads outta their [Expletive Deleted] and get an alternative view on everything so that they can begin to see constrasting ideas and begin to question things more instead of mindlessly accepting everything they are told by governments!!

I used to be ultra conservative myself. I believed in fiscal responsibility. I still do. I trusted that the Conservatives would bring this about when they had their landslide victory in the 1984 election. Then they set to work and made the Liberals look like amateurs when it came to running up a big deficit every year. The national debt just got worse and worse. South of the border a certain Mr. Reagan was doing the same thing to the USA at the same time. Very distressing.
The truth of the matter is that the Conservatives and the Republicans talk and talk about fiscal responsibility, but have always for the last 30+ years done the exact opposite of what they supposedly stand for. I don't trust them any more.
I don't trust the Liberal party up here very much more, but at least they got rid of the deficit, and made a good start on paying down the national debt. And they actually built up a nice nest egg of a good few billion dollars as a contingency fund for the next economic downturn.
Too bad the conservatives got reelected in the mean time, and promptly pissed away the nest egg on tax breaks and god knows what else. That money would have been a big help a couple of years ago, if only it had still been there. Now we are in deficit again, and the national debt is rising.
South of the border Reaganism was taken to its extreme. All safe guards were removed from all economic activity in the name of free enterprise. The results were entirely predictable all along, and came true with a bang. What was really shocking was the way the rest of the world followed along in the stupidity. Even the UK's ultra conservative banking system got involved, a turn of events I still can't understand and never would have predicted.
Here in North America most of the problems we have these days are poverty and near poverty based. All of the jobs were moved overseas years ago, and the middle class has as a result largely disappeared. You've heard that corporate payrolls are as large as they ever were, but now with downsizing, it all goes to the few at the top. If you need an example of what this all means, take a look at what is happening in Detroit. This extreme example makes it easy to understand what is happening.
Oh and Herm, you get stuck behind buses full of unemployed people because they cannot afford to buy cars anymore.
I do not know if this applies to Huston, but in general if a city does not have a good working public transit system, then the poor stay poor, because they cannot get from point A where they live, to point B where the jobs are, in a timely manner. High crime ghettos are the result. Make it possible for these people to get to jobs by making public transit available to them, and the ghetto disappears over time.
The other symptoms that the USA and other parts of the world is suffering from is a huge national debt. Perhaps it's a good thing that we are moving towards a global economy. Because if the USA ever defaults, or should I say is allowed to go into default by the world economy, then all hell will break loose. The 5 PIIGS of Europe will fail immediately. And since there is no way in hell that America can ever repay its debts, the only way out will be to carry her much the same way that Europe carried Italy for the last 60 years, and gradually over time, forgive her debt as the world economy can afford to do so.
And that is my two cents worth. I can foresee some ways out of the mess, for the USA especially, but that is a subject for a different thread.

Priority is the big problem imo, the US government spend billions and billions on milltary and space programs.
The welfare of the people is not top priority, a world economy is wat they want ultimately with the "new world order" they want a 1 world currency so they can in essence manage the world. Which will most likely result in world wide marshall law, depopulation and one massive big brother monitoring wat everybody is doing and locking down on our freedoms.
We are already losing our freedom of speech, just look at the aggression protestors are faced with, harmless protestors beaten down with police batons.
We need to forget all the political mumbo jumbo, and consentrate on the core issues, politics just complicates things in a way thats designed to confuse people and get them into their split groups, they feed off conflict and they love to get people clashing with each other because its easier to control the people when they are fighting with one another.
There is no miracle fix for all this, I think somthing major will happen soon enough something enviromental or somthing staged, this will be used to boost their agenda forward. its 2011 now and we have already had disasterous weather in mexico and autralia that has left thousands dead and more insured. i also hear 2012 could bring even worse disaster due to solar flares emitted from the sun and disrupting the eaths magnetic field which will ofcorse cause dramatic weather.
nothings confirmed tho, its all theory and scientific predictions right now, but i quess we just need to wait and see

Too long to read? I've seen more involved want ads and maybe part of the issue in America is that things are, "too long to read"?
This is why I don't do forums! People don't want to think, they just want to talk and that talk usually emanates from their butts because they're actually ill-informed.
Perhaps people shouldn't involve themselves in topics that require in depth pondering as such topics have no short answers, rebuttals or replies.
It's like asking someone to offer their opinion concerning religion, but asking them to do so with a limited supply of words, is it not?
When this happens it's a dead giveaway to me that people just want to hear their heads rattle.

There are two things you just cannot convince others in their ways of thinking and that is religion and politics, could be worse I guess but we have it made compared to any other country, I mean you could be in the desert and think it is acceptable to wipe your "you know what" with your hand instead of using toilet paper, now thats not a country I would find pleasing to be apart of. Perhaps people shouldn't involve themselves in topics that require in depth pondering as such topics have no short answers, rebuttals or replies.
It's like asking someone to offer their opinion concerning religion, but asking them to do so with a limited supply of words, is it not?
When this happens it's a dead giveaway to me that people just want to hear their heads rattle.
Frankly and without offense, I just don't have that kind of time.

I had to take notes after reading all of this again just to quickly and with a few words possible because I'm drinking reply to all of this.
SB, you mentioned the Gov. running with a attitude that they know we are doomed but don't tell us. I feel that way too a lot but in addition to it as far as us trying to find ways to let undocumented trespassers (since they don't like being called illegal aliens), to me citizens, I wonder if we (USA) isn't trying to do so to 1. increase population and eventually turn all of the America continents into one big one to compete with China. USA doesn't stand a chance against China as is. They have more land and resources. We need more land and resources too. This is just a off the theory I have is all. But why else would even Republicans try to allow the illegal aliens to become part of our nation so easily besides to get tax revenues?
Somebody mentioned a concern about enough food. This is totally not a concern to me. I know how much food is totally wasted before it ever hits a dinner table. There is easily way too much space to grow more food both vegetable and animal "IMHO"!
Supreme is a truth-er then I suspect being he has evidence that we did this to ourselves. I totally disagree as much as I can on this point and just pray I'm right. I still respect his opinion about it and I need to look at any info supporting it which I will confess I haven't.
Oh Nameless.......You're in Canada right? I think Supreme is actually in Britain somewhere but each of you post in a way that when I read I feel you are here with us in the USA and then I think you can't be to have some of the opinions you have. Example: I think that if I could run for Mayer here in Houston, I'd say I'd run on...read next post!

I'd run on a partial platform saying no more "sanctuary city status", and NO MORE METRO at all. Yep, I said it. I know Metro just cost us to death. The buses alone don't get paid for by their usage. They cost us in buying them, maintaining them, paying the drivers and their retirement, building the bus stops, cleaning the bus stops and people pay by being late to work because we constantly get stopped by stopped buses to let on or off 1 or 2 people that if you saw them you'd know they are going to or coming from work. Houston's Metro system has never made a dime and "me" the tax payer pays the difference each year. The litter alone at the bus stops makes me sick! I think the buses allow the ghettos to be here too. Get rid of the buses and the ghettos may go away! Sanctuary City Status sucks! Our cops can't ask a person who just wrecked into my car if they are here illegally. I pay higher insurance premiums because of it. My school taxes are higher to "educate" aliens and my medical cost have gone through the roof because aliens who have no insurance and should not be here in the first place clog my hospital's ER because there kid has whooping cough because they didn't get the shots for the kid either or they MISSED the bus on shot day. Who knows? I could go on for days about the undocumented trespassers here in Houston. It makes me sick to my stomach!!! I have to have full coverage because I'm too afraid of being hit by a uninsured person here. Easily 1/4 of the drivers here have no insurance. My rates are up for that though I have a perfect record and so does my wife. My 3 year old was not allowed to go to our local public school because he spoke English and not Spanish! I pay the taxes for that school and the little illegal alien's parents don't yet their kid gets into school and doesn't have to pay for lunches yet mine can get in and the kid I have that did get in does have to pay for lunches. Who is really paying for the free lunches? ME! Read next post now!

Nameless, I'd also like to blame our liberals who passed NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) for being the main reason our jobs all went overseas. We were on top and all alone there until this one piece of legislation went through. Here is a thought for everyone here. Take it how you want to: "The rich find a way to be rich and stay rich. The poor find a way to be poor and stay poor.
Supreme said something about the USA trying to run a world economy. I hope not. I don't want any part of that. Our awesome Obama is trying to set us up to have to answer to the United Nations about where and when we can place our troops or defend our interest. He's even trying to give politicians from outside of our country the right to come in and investigate our military and business practices without restriction. Madness! I was military before but could not imagine being in now and not being able to fire until fired upon. To have to tell the city we are being killed daily over while trying to prevent the radicals from setting off more bombs everywhere when and where we will be searching that day? I'd like to see us move all of the Israelis to Nevada and let the Palestinians take over that part of earth. We should pull our troops out of everywhere and bring them here and line them up on the borders. Let the crazy freaks over there kill themselves to death for the rest of their lives! Drill here, drill now baby! We don't need that oil and I don't think we are there for the oil or to protect our medical cost for drugs either. We can grow that stuff here if we needed. Easy! We should sit back and watch as China gets so big they cave in on themselves but wait knowing they will go after the oil first. Read next post.
